the dealer (MK Skoda) drove the car up on trade plates and then took my old clio away

Thanks for the kind comments guys. had my 1st real drive today and i am over the moon, they drive bloody well and seems to have good power even when running / being gentle with her

I wouldn't be too gentle with her though, engines nowadays especially diesels respond well to a bit of hard use from day one.
