Wheel Refurbishment in the North West

Featured Replies

Any recommendations? Would prefer to go for someone based on work completed :)

I'm well aware of Wheel Specialists and their work looks good. I just don't think they represent value for money.

So apart from them please

Cheers,

Steve

My mrs does them, but not fast, but at over 100 hours of labour its not cheap, but what you get is perfection

Bloody 'ell Gary - I'd want them back this year! ;)

Can send you some info on them if you like, but was hoping on a 3-day ish turnaround from someone.

Cheers,

Steve

i know you mentioned wheel specialist but they do it in the same day also they are doing 20% off the origional quote, thats the one in leeds anyway....

thinking of taking my spiders there mainly because i don't know anywere else and they have a 12 month warrenty

Thanks,. Might request a quote and await a discount voucher to then magically appear shortly afterwards ;)

I know people who've used them and are pleased with the finish and quality. But at £300-odd for a set I'd expect that at the very least!

Cheers,

Steve

Did they supply a code in the email for the 20% Ryan? Might just put that straight in when I request a price, see what happens for the Manchester branch

Steve

Yep, as expected TWS standard quote is £282 - standard silver finish refurbishment, no tyre removal/re-fitting

£70.50 per wheel is steep. Or is that just me?

Steve

Theres a place in bury opp the toyota garage that are suppost to be pretty good. collegue of mine mangled a fancy alloy from a hire car alfa, and they did a good job of fixing it..

it was These guys

Cheers Col, will check 'em out.

What you after? Simple spray job or kerb repair? If its a spray job how about trying some bodyshops?

Diamond wheels in Stockport. Prestige wheels in New Mills. Used both of these to do wheels on various cars both did a good job. Looking at about £60/£65 per wheel.

John - full refurb, i.e. not a mobile service.

Andy - thanks, will check those out. Yep, lowest I've found (for a good, recommended job) is £65 per wheel. Thought I might get it for £50-55 per wheel, but if that's the going rate then....

They're a set of 18s, so maybe that puts them into the next price bracket? I paid circa £200 a few years ago for a set of 17" TT Comps to be done, but the company doesn't appear to be around any more.

Cheers,

Steve

Waddy if your referring to ProClean in Prescot then I think it's still there (will check on the way home) but part of the crew have moved to national alloys in widnes. However brother in law had his 17" S3 alloys done but I wasn't impressed.

Very good John - spot on! That's where I had the TTs done, but I know most of them moved and setup National Alloys. I did try to ring actually, but the number just rang out.

If you didn't reckon they were upto much, I'll look elsewhere. Out of interest, what did you think was wrong with them?

Cheers,

Steve

I thought the quality of the spray job was poor. Lots of orange peel.

think i'm going to use the wheel specialist tbh there a little more expensive but you get what you pay for. i was getting quotes of £200 for my spiders just painted.
