Just e-mail dieselgeek and got a super quick reply! Apparently I need the SIGMA 5 they sent me a pic saying if what I already have looks like that i the picture I need the SIGMA 5...I thought 'I guess so...' Am going to order after one last check. Mine is the 1.8T 4x4 Elegance 5 speed...am I right?

Gonna get the metal bushings as well...

Should be fun...

I dont know what spec car you have as i havent seen it however as far as i know all 4x4 octys were elegence spec so it should be good to go on yours.

Tell you what, get the bushes/inserts and if for some reason they dont fit with the GK kit, then i will buy them from you as i will do this on mine at some point...so no risk to you ok?

Thanks but I am going to give them a miss anyway. Diesel geek send you modified 'arms' and stated that the ones that fit to the gearbox would not make much difference at all.

there are 2 types of bushes, the ones that go on the end of the arms would be of no use as the DG supply uprated ones in their kit, not sure however about the other set like the draft42 ones, i would have thought they would still firm things up. No need to get them now see how you go with the shifter first.

I know about the two types but the guy at diesel geek suggested it would not make much difference? I really do appreciate all your advice and time as this is well and truly all new stuff for me.

so did you speak to the 'tuner' who sold you a non existant quickshift?

No not yet...I am thinking of taking a pic letting you experienced guys have a look make sure it is actually standard before I make a fool of myself. I might just phone if it was not fitted or should I write a letter?

This is the standard one next to the Forge one:

Got my quickshift linkage from dieselgeek a few days ago real good quality looking pieces of kit...It also includes the arms so should get a real good feel hopefully!

Then, put it on your car and write some feedback.

After my 'Romanian freinds' suggestion (See above) I found the time to do the 'Diesel Geek' quickshift today. The only issue with it was pushing the plastic ring at the end of the rubber boots back they were stuck fast with rust! the other was tightening up the tiny allen key and nut fastening bolt that hold the shift cable ends onto the shift cables. Really fiddly and I am ot sure if it is a American thing but the 10mm spanner a little large and the 9mm was too small!!! So had the hold spanner at an angle and try to twist the bolts with the allen key supplied!

Took it for a test drive throw seems better but a little knotchy and am not very confident with the gear shift maybe just have to adjust will let you know as I drive it more.

By the way I stand corrected...I removed a NEUSPEED quickshift not a STOCK linkage the tuner did fit the NEUSPEED way back when I took it in!!!

you will need to adjust it now, there is a guide (youtube) that will show you what to do.

americans use imperial (on the whole) its good they supply a key

UPDATE...still a little notchy but I guess that is to be expected and I probably need to get used to it? On occasion when messing with first and secons stationary at the light it seems to stick especially 2nd and I have to kind of force it in?

Any advice...comments?

try readjusting it, did mine today and it took several attempts before i was happy.

That is some serious pain the backside the arms are not the stock ones so need to be loosened and tightened with allen keys naf design ig you ask me. It feels notchy but not too bad may just see how it goes?

Has anybody else got a review on th DG shift kit? Been looking at getting one.

Thanks

Any update on how this feels?

Cant decide which SS to get :'(

The shift is good when moving along in traffic can be a little 'sticky' but can't complain the throw seems better than the Neuspeed oe I had before. However all the other ones other than the Diesel Geek one (the one I just fitted) are a lot more straight forward.

In hindsight I think the forge or cheaper version (Compbrake) with metal bushing may have been a better and more accurate fit.

Try to get other opinions...I have nothing to compare it to (other peoples cars etc.).
