wing mirror repeater unit

Featured Replies

Hi

My 56 plate octavia has fail the MOT on a wing mirror indicator not working, My local skoda dealer has quoted £34 for the part and £45+vat for fitting. Does anyone know how to changing the unit?

Also have a problem with the rear parking sensor which seem to work when they want to haven't really looked at them wondering if its a common fault.

The wing mirror indicator is the more important only got 10days to sort it out.

Cheers

All done pretty easy, Can't believe what the garage wanted to charge!

Glad you sorted it, any chance of a quick step by step guide as I've just noticed that my passenger side wing mirror repeater is not working, I'm hoping its just the bulb but I can't even see how to get at it and the manual says nowt about changing the wing mirror bulbs :S

That's ridiculous, my local dealer charged me £18!

OK, so the garages are a rippof.

Seems it is an easy job to do - does anyone actually know how to take the wing mirrors apart?

Could I have the details?

There is a topic somewhere on how to do it but brief summary the wing mirror cover ( painted bit) pulls of upwards take a bit of messing around with its tight then there are 2 torx screws behind each side of the glass the heads are pointing straight up take them out indicators falls out repeat in reverse to refit. Hope that helps

I think I paid £20 for mine from TPS, I daresay if there are any dealers offering club discounts, £18 is about right.

Taking off the mirror glass is easier than the mirror back although I found I had to unplug the heater wiring to take the glass out completely. The torx screw to the outside edge of the mirror is easiest to get to, the inner one needs the mirror backing to be pointed out so you can get behind it.
