New mapping for Columbus?

Featured Replies

Does anyone know when new mapping is likely to be available for the Columbus. Since in Ireland all the new motorways have opened and the M50 junctions have been updated among other changes around the country an update would be helpful. Any information out there?

I've just had a Superb delivered (new) with Columbus & that came with a 6.1 dvd, I've not checked if they are loaded though (only had it 1 1/2 days :) )

New version (V7?) should be available later this year. Not seen a fixed date announced yet though.

Does one have to pay for updates? Also, can the updates be done remotely or does one need to buy discs from the dealer?

You have to pay to get the DVD from your dealer, unless you download them (illegally) from the 'net (&burn them onto a DVD)

Hopefully with the 7 digit post codes

A colleague of mine used to download the BMW ones illegally (bit torrent) and then burn the roadside cameras onto them as a POI. The discs are ridiculously expensive to buy, especially when you look at the cost of full post code mapping available with sat navs like TomTom etc. Weren't the VAG ones all over £100 each?

Thanks for the comments. I was told by a dealer in the ROI that they were limited to one disc per dealership and that they would install the maps for a fee. I will await version 7 of the mapping so.
