Wrong fueled vRS

Why? A fuel filter is to filter out small particles in the fuel and to separate out water. Petrol doesn't have any particles and is fully miscible with diesel. Hence petrol cannot contaminate a filter...

We sit back and calmly await someone with a more detailed and knowledgeable explantion than I can give DRJ, but that's what I've been led to believe.

Least you can sleep easy now, I do agree with everyone else on here that I would have brimmed it with diesel and just run it, I have seen it done loads of times at work and as long as only a relatively small percentage petrol is put in it wont cause any damage once its diluted with the diesel.

I also agree with DRJ I dont think that changing the fuel filter will do anything, you wont have anymore petrol residue in this than you will in your fuel lines and any other part of the system, its not designed as a petrol trap. it will be flushed through as you drive.

Keeping the tank brimmed with diesel will just weaken the petrol/diesel mixture more and more.

Maybe your mate Anwar was looking for something to do this morning, thats why he gave you the shrugged shoulders!

The 60 quid of fuel he has drained out of your car wont be getting dumped - he will be filling his recovery truck up with that :giggle:
