powerflex dog bone mount bush!

Featured Replies

hi all,

Well i know many of you on here have replaced / thinking of replacing you dog bone mounting bush, well i decided to go with the powerflex bush, i know some people like them and others dont, :S

All i can say it was the best £17 i spent, what a difference, gears feel better and of some reason the engine seems alot more repsonsive, and best of all the annoying rattle/cluck at low speeds has gone!!!!!!!!!

i will be glad when the vibration has settled down other than that very happy

on my TODO list!

its just superpro tends to vibrate through the car less, i fould the powerflex didnt settle down even adjusted the idle so the car didnt rattle at idle, didnt stop it fully tho.

That being said, its a necessity to fit these on our cars!

that was my other one i was going to have, the thing i liked about superpro is they do the front bush on the bog bone, will see how the powerflex goes and if the vibration gets to much will change to superpro.

does feel like a totally different car now tho

yes i have the front insert superpro bush and it made a nice difference to the feel, the insert is the ideal one as you dont need to take apart or even out the old bush, it comes in 2 parts that go either side of the oe bush, gives the best mix of firmness but not harshness which can occur when you fit the fully uprated replacement front bush

Superpro on mine, a must do modemoticon-0148-yes.gif

powerflex on mine. not that i've seen any benefits as i dont get to drive it anymore :(

Its such a easy mod to do and makes such a difference firming things up. I think after about 200-300 miles things calm down a lot lol

I also fitted Powerflex emoticon-0148-yes.gif

Peter

had mine fitted on a service, 700miles (two weeks) later its getting a bit better.

relly helps for getting the power down smoothly but does vibrate alot on low revs pulling away,

look at the 2nd and 3rd pics down, its the round bit to the front of the arm with a bolt hole. (near the black bit he is holding) the bush goes either side of that to sandwich the original bush. Much easier to do than getting out the old bush, and firm but not too firm which can happen when changing both bushes.

  • 4 weeks later...

At the risk of appearing a total and complete berk, wtf is a dog-bone mount and why is it considered such an important mod?

I thought changing the dogbone mount on a diesel octy was not recommended due to the increased cabin vibrations?

I was considering getting one, as sometimes my oil burner objects to changing into 5th - generally at speed, normally driving it seems to be ok, so it was one of those things I could change when I was under the car doing something else (like a forthcoming 3rd cambelt change, or taking my turbo off to clean it).
