Yes, it's unusual that a vehicle evokes such a response, but I just find them hateful. Plus I can't see the point of them. They'd be useless if you actually need to go off-road as they're usually fitted with 20" wheels and performance tyres, plus there's less room in them than a 5-Series.

So you've not less room, it's less able and it's more expensive. So the point of it is???

Same goes for that 5-Series GT contraption. Why? You have a choice between a 5-Series saloon and Touring. What else do you need? They want to sell people an uglier car that offers no more space or practicality. Yet people buy it because it's a BMW.

1st Time I've seen a complete Matt Black car

Perhaps it's been wrapped, although BMW now offer a 'proper' matte black finish now, at £'000s extra.

I still ask why though? Just apply the same options to something better. How about a 5-Series instead?

I can show you S3s, 430 Ferraris, Gallardos all in that finish - nothing special really. And yes, you're quite right - all the aforementioned look WAY better than an X6 ever will, yey! :clap:

2. Power, x35d twin turbo

3. Equipment (at a price,granted)

4. It gets on peoples nerves!!

My car cost £21000 and I bought it because it's pretty good value for the dosh, but come on I wouldn't even look at it if cash wasnt an issue!

So let's stop the " I hate beemers and Audi drivers" nonsense because if you had the dosh you would buy one too!!

I'm not an X5 fan either, but it's a better car. Only reason choose the X6 is for the image at the expense of practicallity and cost.

Bit like choosing a Range Rover sport over a Discovery actually. Pay more for the image when it's pretty much the same car underneath and the cheaper one is more practical.

I just don't get a 'Sport' 4x4 that's big, heavy and tall.

I never have understood what motoring question BMW thought they were answering with the X6 - it's just wrong!

Now that Bangle has gone, I was hoping that a return to the graceful, elegant design touches from the past would have permeated their newer designs, but sadly not. New 5 is moving in the right direction with the exception of the GT which is another "Friday afternoon" design moving in the wrong direction.

Come on BMW, we know you can do better! (oops, sorry, wrong forum )

I drive a TDV8, two year old Range Rover Vogue SE and am quite an enthusiast on 4x4s.

Can't have steels on a Rangie. Alloys only.

For info I do respect others choices. You may have noticed my quote "I have and you are wrong" was followed by a winking emoticon. Meaning I don't take this discussion too seriously.

Anyone who posts on a forum can only give their views and opinion. I respect that fact that you may like the X6. But my opinion is different. Please respect my opinon too. The X6 is cack.

I just find the X's look like 3's and 5's that have gotten fat and lazy. Give me a late e34 M5 over any of the tosh BMW are churning out at the moment (even with money no option!), the CLK black edition Merc? Now thats something newer I like.

Matt finishes seem all the rage in Monaco when i was down there a few months ago,

Best one was a matt finished Olive green Merc G wagon.

Funny enough, saw a new looking Merc (private plate) in matt red today.
