6 MONTHS DELIVERY FOR NEW OCTAVIAS!!!!

This is only my second posting. Just joined recently.

I hope you're wrong. I ordered an Octy 1.4TSI Elegance on 6 Aug 2010. Told to expect delivery sometime October, or early September at the latest.

Will keep you updated on the progress if you wish.

Anyone else awaiting delivery?

Fingers Crossed.

6 MONTHS DELIVERY FOR NEW OCTAVIAS!!!!

no suprises there!!

Ordered mine mid june, picking it up tomorrow

Incidentally, it was a blue vrs estate, petrol, spare wheel as only extra

Think i worked it out as 15 weeks

Oh, but the black diesel L&k we ordered at the same time hasnt been built yet...

Hope this is right! I ordered a new VRS at the end of last week...............this would mean I would get an 11 plate :-) Trade in value and VAT is fixed for me regardless of when I get my car.

My vrs estate with few gizmos and DSG..............................ordered June, expected now Dec or Jan.6 Months is good by my standards!

Ordered my Candy White VRS 11th June 2010; Car was built 13th June 2010. Expected delivery 1st week of October....

Got any tips for horses?

My company car was ordered mid June - Candy White vRS with a few extras (Xenons, variable boot, MDI, Auto wipers etc) giving me a delivery date to me of the 29th Oct. I would have prefered to run it in on my recent trip to the Isle of Man (nice and sedate obviously) but hey.

Even VW are stating 5 months wait for cars with that engine and I don't see Skoda getting to jump the queue over the parent company

(I'm assuming you mean early November latest as it's late September now...)

Where has the car been for 3 months?

Just had some good news about my CRTD SCOUT. Ordered in July and build week 43 was original date given. Was told yesterday that this will now be week 40 having gone out to week 46. Also told that as this is within 1 month that it is unlikely to change again. Watch this space.

Was also told that someone had just ordered a VRS and this will be built in Week 6.

Where has the car been for 3 months?

Sorry, made an error car was built 13th September....

I ordered Octavia Estate 1.4TSI DSG plus a few extras on 23rd July; I am told it is being built this week.

Just goes to show there seems to be no logical explanation for build date queue at the skoda factory.

Unfortunatley this does seem to be true, I ordered my vrs hatch at the end of August and was told it should be here by the end of December, been told now that it is down for build week 4! so its looking like March for delivery!

Will be very annoyed if it does take that long as my trade in requires MOT and Tax at the start of March!

6 MONTHS DELIVERY FOR NEW OCTAVIAS!!!!

So that explains why nearly new 2nd hand VRS's are more expensive than brand new from sites like DTD then?

So that explains why nearly new 2nd hand VRS's are more expensive than brand new from sites like DTD then?

Ordered my Octavia CR DSG hatch Race Blue (f/r parking sensors / auto lights / bluetooth muti function s/wheel / mdi / spare wheel) hatch week 23 - June 11

in last 4 weeks build date gone back from week 43 to week 50! - delivery week 2nd week Jan?. Skoda say that DSG + CR option adding to delays.

Found out today, that could have loan car option fron week 41, as I have px but forego up to £ 300 compensation. As px will need warranty extended / mot / service / rfl at end Dec + 2 new rear tyres soon, giving it serious consideration.

Would stop worrying about px getting knocked etc

whats the £300 compensation you mention

i might like a bit of that

IIRC the vRS, scout and 4x4 Octavias are built in a different factory to the other cars such as Elegance, L&K etc. That is why when the facelift Octavia was launched, the vRS etc didn't have the facelift front initially as the tooling wasn't put in that factory until later. The different factories might also go some way to explaining the difference in times between ordering and delivery for the different models.

I ordered a 1.6 TDI Elegance Estate back in July and am still waiting, all the dealer will tell me is late oct early nov

4x4 ordered 19th May...Week 20

Told by sales dude at the time to expect delivery in 10-12 weeks...Weeks 30-32

Then told build Week 41...

Then told build Week 40...

Ten days ago told build Week 45...

Completion to Delivery = Approx 3 weeks...

Order to Collection = Approx 28 weeks...

Bad joke!

Guys if you do a search around , this is very common, I posted a link that had a statement around why delays to deliveries - DSG shortage across VAG range.

With all the erratic delvery dates yo- yoing back & forth, the only explanation can be that when they run out of DSG boxes , they reschedule non dsg builds, then when the next batch comes in, the delayed dsg cars get put back in the build line & manual car build gets rescheduled.

Those who are being told 6 months, do a search about compensation, but be aware that Skoda moved the goal posts a couple of weeks ago, so that you now have to exceed 18 weeks to delivery for 1st compo step ( was 16).

@ 4 weeks to build date, i found out that it had been moved out 1 week. I have to laugh otherwise I would cry .
