How do you set/use tyre pressure warning?

Featured Replies

How do you set the TPW system and what does it do - the manual is very vague :'( :'( :'(

I believe.....

When driving along at a steady speed, press the button near the gear stick.

Light comes on dashboard to acknowledge completion.

It then monitors the tyre pressure via the traction control / diff's sensors and advises you, if you have lost significant pressure.

Al.

I thought you manually check/set the tyre pressures and then while parked with ign on you press the button until the light flashes . Then tyre pressure is set , the car doesnt monitor the pressure but the rolling radius of the tyre , if the pressure drops then the radius changes making the light come on , it seems to work well as its picked up a slow puncture on our Octy

Inflate tyres to correct pressure, turn on ignition, press button (25) page 8 (cockpit ) for more than 2 seconds, warning light ( ! ) in instrument cluster illuminates, when calibration is complete there is a warning bleep and light ( ! ) goes out.

Agree with what Richf said and from what I was told ,on my Octavia, is that it uses the ABS sensor to " see" the radius changes.

yep thats right it uses the wheel speed sensors that the car also uses for the ABS and traction control , quite clever really
