I'm paranoid about this kinda thing as growing up our house got done over twice and they've had a go since, but my Mum had specked the locks up so high that they just made a big mess of the French doors... it had concealed dead bolts top and bottom

My Mum's old cavalier got nick named the boomerang.. got taken 3 times and always came back.. next door disturbed them having another go once and it had to get a new handle.

My Dad's (then new) Saab 9000 went one night... his business partner was out of th country so be borrowed his also new 9000.. that went as well 2 nights later.. That one turned u on bricks with a boot full of goods, but my Dads never did.

This is why I'm paranoid.... That wasn't a bad area either, but they never are, are they.

SWMBO hasn't had any of this happen to her growing up and thinks I over react.. but the more stories I tell her the more she's starting to appreciate where I'm coming from when I glance back at the house to double check the windows are closed.

I hate this happened to you mate.. but i'm so pleased they left the keys when they bolted and everything's accounted for.

I have become a bit paranoid myself now sadly.

I keep checking all the doors, moving the keys out of the locks, and keep waking up and peering out of the window at the slightest of noises outside.

Even leave the bedroom door open now so i can hear anything suspicious going on downstairs.

Bloody ridiculous state of affairs, but that's how these gets get to you.
