Buckled wheels (Lunas)

Featured Replies

Not very happy , my Superb 2 has a very easy life but after 20,000miles it turns out both rear wheels are buckled on the inside edge, the dealer is blaming potholes!!

I dont understand why the rears would be damaged and not the fronts since the weight is mostly up front. Of course there were plenty of potholes around after the harsh winter we had but i dont remember going over anything bad enough to damage a wheel let alone both

Looks like I will need 2 new wheels :( Hope this isnt going to be the start of a trend with Luna alloys

Are they anywhere near ET48 PCD112?

If so I might know someone with some Audi Calitos available soon - would look cracking on a Superb ;)

Pretty sure they are ET46, so they would be ideal

might be tempted depending on condition its going to cost £225.47 each for the Lunas but bearing in mind they have buckled without having any hard use im reluctant to fit them again

£375 for a set of four - see ad in the Parts For Sale Forum, and pictures can be found in my blog

Might not be available for 4 weeks though, as I've got to order their successors

Too "standard" - the OP needs some Calitos

Rich, claim from the council, get the dealer to put it in writing that it is potty damage, and as you use certain road's alot you know the potties caused it.

unless you can blame a specific pothole claiming wont be possible

Thought I'd bump this thread as I have 3 buckled wheels again :(

To be fair one had a hard impact which wrecked the tyre but the other two haven't had a hard life .

Definitely not fitting Lunas this time !!!

I have some noticeable wheel vibration at present, despite the wheels having both new tyres and being balanced twice. When the service agent checks them this week (as the car is due service) I'm going to get him to check the individual wheels in case they are buckled.

I travel all over the country and know I have hit some major pot holes recently - this is despite my best attempts to avoid!

Do you have Lunas??

In fairness one wheel had taken a real knock , see attached pic of tyre but the other ones havent had a hard life, i think the Luna wheel is a little weaker , certainly than the Thermisto like we had on our Octavia we never buckled one of those

No, not Lunas - 17" Trifid

Have to agree with Brimma though - those Audi Cailtos would look the "muts" !

Try something else this time , Audi RS replica wheels , heavy duty commercial rated so with any luck will stand a bit more abuse . I'll see if my old wheels can be repaired but I'm not holding out much hope
