ATD + AXR engines on 100bhp 1.9TDi

Featured Replies

Greetings folks. Was wondering what, if any, the differences are between the ATD and AXR engines used on the Fabia 1.9TDI. Cheers.

From what I can tell there is no difference between the two there may well be a different ECU system on there but never the less it all appears the same:

Only difference is in the fabia they where in these years:

ATD: 01/00-10/05

AXR: 10/05-12/07

I did not realise the PD100 changed in the Fabia, I thought it it only had the ATD engine and only the vRS changed, (ASX to BLT).

So what code has the PD105 in the Fabia II (pre Face Lift) got?

I've had 2 Mk1 Estates, one witth each variety of PD100 engine. For me:

* the old ATD had 2-3 more MPG better economy

* the AXR has better emissions (despite worse economy) so will save you a few quid on road tax

* the AXR has the same "stutter" as the BLT

* not a fair comparison, but driven back to back my 200K+ miles ATD ran rings around the new and still-tight AXR for drivability. Miles later, I don't think the AXR has ever got to the level of the ATD.

If I had the choice between them, and everything else was equal, I'd get an ATD...

My 100PD has the ATD engine in

It is now on 203k miles , and still going strong

Same clutch too , and she was mapped at 90k miles , so well pleased with mine :D

Is the AXR a EURO IV compliant version of the 100 PD?

I would think so, just some changes to suit various new regulations!
