Clio 182 SOLD now looking for a fabia vrs

Featured Replies

Well I sold my car and just looking at several cars, I'll need to buy one within a week or two max so don't have the option of holding out for one.

anything I should look out for when viewing one?

There's one on auto trader, black £3995 on 98k and has been chipped already.

Can someone view the add and give me your opinions? Sorry I can't put the link up

id steer away from ones already remapped. Lots of dodgy remap outfits around and turbos have been known to go pop. 98k - if on original turbo this can go (remapped or not) anytime soon. You may be lucky and get another 50k out of it though.

The engine is pretty bullet prrof. Mine had 96k on clock when i p/xed it a few months ago. I reckon £3995 for private is pretty steep for a high milegae car. I think you could find one with 30k less on clock for that. Pity you cant wait as some mint cars have come up on here in past with a briskoda cherished history. Keep your eye out - you may be lucky.

seems most in my price range are on 90k+ my max budget is £4k I'll take your advice and avoid already mapped cars.

I was just gonna offer you mine but if you only have 4k to spend it's not an option for either of us.

Good luck with the hunt.

there are a few on pistonheads for around 4k .

ok seen a viewed one I like,

2004 black on 94k fsh Skoda, on the service book is the tooth belt the cambelt lol I'm daft I know.

Anyway it's all had stamps every 10k but on the 60k service it doesn't say cambelts been done but if it's at a main dealer wouldn't they have said it needs done?

It drove very well no weird noises I've offered £3900

Yep, de toothed belt is de cambelt. Mileage is not an issue, condition and service record is, just like the Clio's.

Oh ok I'll get the cambelt done on 100k, I guess it's been inspected at skoda.

cambelts are 60k or 4 years... just so you're aware. Didn't think mine had been done, so I just got it done as soon as I'd bought the car. Belt that came off looked brand new to be fair, but I still wouldn't risk it. Nothing like peace of mind!!

Edit: look out for leaky door seals. press down on the carpet in rear footwells to check for dampness. not too difficult to fix, but coming up to winter it's something you need to get done soon - otherwise you'll be cursing the car!

If it's got full Skoda service history why have they not done the belts? it's not been ticked yes tooth belt done anywhere

I should say I was bought from a garage last winter by the owner now so surely they would have got it done

In the service history it says 60k service but not ticked tooth belt done which is odd.

It's prob been done at some point I'll replace it at 100k I'll need to save for it
