Skoda Insurance

Does anyone use them? Any experiences.

I was pleasently surpirsed byt the quote they gave me, pretty much the equal of anyone else and with the new for old for first year it seems quite tempting.

The wife used Skoda Insurance a few years ago when they were underwritten by Sun Alliance (I think) then they changed to Zuric and the prices shot through the roof

Try National Farmers Union, you can only do it over the phone, get the phone number off the net for your local office and phone them, you might be surprised. emoticon-0144-nod.gif

Ive used them to insure my octy this year, they were very friendly & helpfull on the phone & i got a much better deal than i had with churchill & they were £200 a year cheaper. Not had to claim with them but overall happy up to now!

They wanted £300 a year more to insure my wife's Fabia II vRS.

Post Office Insurance is waaaay cheaper

Very good for me, Octy VRS CR, aged 25, 6 years NCD, £320 premium, £100 excess, including legal, courtsey car etc.

All these cheap insurance quotes I have to ask.

Are you checking what you get & doing like for like ?

A lot of things like legal cover, hirecar, european travel, new for old etc are now optional extras where 5 years ago some of there were std.

Glad someone brought this up as I reluctantly agreed to let them give me a quote whilst arranging 7 day free cover and yes shocked new Scout full cover £220 so yes impressed.

No foreign call centres to deal with grea level of cover. The time about insurance is every year the underwriters change and thats why two years quotes will never be the same. Look at me for example last year it is all via VW insurance and our Vw Polo was £360 then £220 for 20k new Octavia scout? work that one out.

The only negative point i have about them is they were unable to insure my van as it wouldnt come up on their system(they did try though!) so i had to insure it with the aa in the end(still saved £150) blooming churchills! :)

Well have to say i have decided to give them a try, ok there were a few quotes from others a little cheaper but the level of cover and price seem very competitive and they were freindly and helpful on the phone.

I may yet regret it, but so far so good.

I tried these guys too.. they wanted £200 more than what i got my insurance at.. THink your paying more for a possible service

....err yes, but sadly not in a good way !!.

Almost double the renewel quote from my existing insurer...but very pleasant; if that is worth the extra money for anyone ??

In my case they were the same price bar 15 quid, but they do new for old and the other didnt... so from that point of view the 15 quid was worth it.

I think as with all insurance it depends on yoru situation, i've historically always been a fan of chris knott and admiral from a price point of view but this time round neither could get close (unfortunately mrs had a claim this year on her car)

But 12 months and it all starts again... :'(

I found LV and More Than both good quotes.

I was impressed with LV because this was for renewal, not new business, yet they were well competitive still.....unusual!

We've insured our new Scout with them, as they were £100 cheaper than the next nearest quote!

no use for me...not the worst, but about 40% more than the best. Two insurers pop up regularly on the comparison sites for me RSAEchoice & More Than - any experiences/comments? I need to investigate the cover with both a bit further, as I've got quite a few extra's including xenons, that I need to ensure are insured !

My vRS is insured with Skoda (underwritten my Allianz) came in the cheapest comparative quote (including sky, chris knott and adrian flux)

Yes - I've just changed to them. They were £50 cheaper than Cooperative Insurance, very friendly and helpful. It looks like a good package. However time will tell.

It will be interesting to see what their renewal quote will be in a year's time. Motor Insurance companies often give you a low quote the first year, just to get you onboard,

then jack it up on renewal and hope you won't notice!
