sorry for poor pic, but as you'll see there is no green adjuster there.

You can remove the cup, but that's where things can start getting a little risky as the spring will be freed. it'll gain you another 5mm tho

I run mine without the threaded part as well no problems with spring coming out even when up on a ramp, the shocks on my KW's are short enough to stop the arm falling down enough for them to drop out

Gota say I do love the the VRS estates, the misses wants an estate in the next couple of years. Might go down that route.
