Fabia vrs insurance

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

I have just got my Skoda from the main dealer its a 2006 VRS with 47k + miles on the clock for £6700 including the road tax, MOT and a full tank of diesel. Its got cruise control , 6 cd changer & the usual (1 year service & 1 year breakdown).

I have tried comparing insurance quotes from various search engines like moneysupermarket, gocompare, comparethemarket, tescocompare and they seem to be averaging around £750 - £780 for the year. One of the reasons I might assume this is high is because I had an accident in 2007 which was not my fault and the other part paid up. I am also trying to protect my No Claims Bonus of 4 years for the first time and have a VW polo 1.4 in my name too. I have tried going up with the excess at 350 but there's not a lot of difference. Are these quote's about right for my case, what is the average price to insure a vRS.

Skoda has also given me a quote which is around £730 and they promise to use skoda servicing and repairs. Shall I go for it

Insurance price depends on so many factors that you can't realistically put an 'average' value to it.

I wish I was paying £780 for my insurance...

Are these quote's about right for my case,

What is your case?

Age and location are 2 things that have a massive effect on insurance prices and aren't listed.

Named drivers also affect things.

FWIW my insurance on my modified Fabia with my partner names was just over last December £400

but i've seen others on here who have paid £1200+

im 25 and use mine for my driving school, i have full ncb and no accidents or anything, obviously my policy covers for a lot more than just a usual policy does, i pay 670 with protected ncb the works, on a 2007 vrs se.

It's impossible to give any opinion without knowing your age and location but I can't see why there would be a problem with that quote - however I'm not clear as to what relationship there is between insurance and servicing...

Mine's just over £200 but then I'm an oldie!

im 29 and im paying around £400 iirc emoticon-0148-yes.gif

worth it really, my first car was a clio 1.2 16v and it was £1600 so why not pay an extra bit per month. i have leagl cover and life insurance and key cover which added about £100, but worth it in my eyes

24 Yrs old, 5 Years no claims bonus 1 accident not at fault 1150 - Fully Comp Protected no claims

OL4 Postcodes takes the ultimate p!

Insurance is on the rise thats for sure renewed the insurance in June, in May I was getting quotes in the region of 750 by June it had gone up to 1150 because of people making a high number of claims.

On the + side im 25 next year so im hoping it drops alot more

Sorry to break the bad news but the old adage of it dropping price at age 25 and dropping at age 30 is total rubbish.

Turning 25 will make no difference to your premium. Insurance companies have been dropping profits and are out to

claw it back - end of.

... but once you get to 50+ things are looking up - Fabia = £220; Atom = £285; Bandit = £82 all fully comp. I think I'm in a relatively low risk postcode though since large 4 bed detached house is £145 building and contents...

am 22 an paid £760 FC 4 years NCB was fairly happy with that although insurance prices seem to be on the rise :dull:

just renewed mine, £701 paid monthly fuly comp mods declared

22 with 3 years no claims and a CD30

19, 2 years driving & no claims. £1200 fully comp, with legal cover.

Oh I'm in a D* area to so I guess that's medium/high risk

Paying £286 for unmodified Fabia VRS with everything that was available, including zero voluntary excess and £100 compulsory. Age 62 years, with a clean license for the last 6 years.

Got this trick of getting caught speeding, just when my license gets clean, what a naughty boy I am. LOLemoticon-0136-giggle.gif

My fabia vrs costs me £1200 fully comp, Ive just turned 19, 2 years driving, 1 claim, 6 points due care and attention, Cambs area. And im a mechanic, so not bad really :)

Paying £334, which I think is a bit nasty, but living in Glasgow doesn't help. 41 with a clean licence (touch wood!) and 6yrs NCD (protected) - Comprehensive with £210 excess in total (£60 compulsory and £150 voluntary) - car is completely standard.

i'm paying £235 at the moment at 58 and wifey at 45, had a scan around and found a quote in March for £180 but didn't take it up. Now i've been looking around again this month and the same company who quoted £180 are now quoting £265. So premiums have rocketed the last month or so.

i just renewed my insurance for £870 with elephant. 20 years old driving for 1 year 10 month with 2 years nc.

the renewal quote they sent through was £1120 which was £100 more than last year :wonder: but

when i phoned up to turn it down they matched the quote i got from admiral (sister company)
