Hi mate, welcome to Brisky, I can try and answer some of your points.

1. As far as I'm aware there are some lexus style rear lights available for

the furby but they seem more popular overseas than here.

People often modify the existing lights using Lamin-x or Fly eyes vinyls.

A few people tint them using thinly applied paint.

2. Original Badges are available from the main dealer. They have 2 alignment

pins on the rear and are self adhesive and easy to fit. Around the £10 mark each.

You might find them on ebay from time to time a bit cheaper...

3. See1.

4 Rears only done legally + legit will be about £150ish

don't try and diy it it will look poo.

Search online for a place local to you with decent reviews.

5.Have a crack with the search feature here on the site.

There's a million threads on this topic! Seek and ye shall find...

To be honest, this is a bandwagon I'm not keen to jump on personally.

6. Usually Lamin-x tints again, Done carefully and tastefully it

can look great. Good quality replacement lights are often quite

pricy but there are some nice ones out now with a LED strip

built in. People also often split the lights open and paint part of

the inside to change their look a bit.

7. Save your pennies and spend £800 odd quid having the interior

retrimmed in leather somewhere like Seat Surgeons.

They've done a lot of Fabias and look after Briskoda members.

8. Have to let someone else answer that. If I did it I'd fit the factory kit

only and since you also have to have washer jets by law on HID equipped

cars. Then you're looking at a new bumper with washers pipework etc too

if you wanted to do it properly then put about £1200+ aside for this mod.

Most people just use high quality uprated bulbs to be honest.

It's loads cheaper and legal if you buy decent bulbs.

Hope some of that was useful.

Garry. ( Also in London  )

Welcome (recently) to this forum. Can I respectfully suggest you'll get a better response if [a] you post single topic questions rather than a whole list and you search a bit beforehand - it's not a particularly good search engine but these questions are asked time after time...

1. Rather too vague a question - in late 2004 Skoda changed the rear lights so if it's the later ones you want I suggest, considering the age of your car, you try a scrapyard.

2. Clarification of previous answer - front and rear badges are different - and it's only the front one that have lugs (I'm pretty sure) - since people easily badged the rear without having to fill any holes (don't they?). A Skoda dealer's the most ready source of these. Note it appears we may have been referring to different badges here - see follow-up postings

3. Don't tint lights - that's an unacceptable safety issue and will quite likely fail an MOT

4. Don't tint front windows - that's a totally unacceptable safety issue - refer another thread on here

5. Yes

6. Don't tint lights - that's an unacceptable safety issue and will quite likely fail an MOT

7. At the age of your car I'd suggest it's a pointless expense retro-fitting leather. The seats/covers out of a Fabia Bohemia are the preferred cloth option - use the search

8. At the age of your car I'd suggest it's a pointless expense retro-fitting expensive headlights - just use uprated but otherwise standard bulbs.

Sorry mate but they're the same... I've changed both mine and there are holes in the bootlid as well

as the chrome grille section. Also the pins are melted over in the front grille as well beacause it can be

readily accessed and in turn help to secure the badge a bit more.

On the rear the pins are purely for orientation of the badge.

Does that mean that there are differences in some cars - with some having the pins at the rear and others not? THIS post is from someone wanting to put a badge back on. Surely if there were holes there he'd know where to put the "vRS" bit? (Correction - rereading that original post suggests he might only have been asking about where to put "FABIA"?) Note it appears we may have been referring to different badges here - see follow-up postings

I'm confused now, what bits on the boot have holes as I want to remove the fabia sign I assumed it was just glued on and the vrs sign

What about the skids badges are they just glued on

THIS REAR ONE on Ebay doesn't appear to have pins on.

[sorry - tried to link to Ebay photo but got "You are not allowed to use that image extension on this board." so use the link]

Perhaps the pins are separate and screw in?

Now found THIS FRONT ONE at Ebay too... Note it appears we may have been referring to different badges here - see follow-up posting

The FABIA badge is definitely just glued on.

Having done a bit of research I think "grr666" was referring to the circular SKODA badge whereas in my answer I was referring to the FABIA and VRS badges - I'll admit we weren't clear in our answers though I did note they were different (i.e. the VRS on the front is different to the VRS on the back). So the SKODA badge has lugs but the FABIA and VRS stick on...

Good I'll heat it up and get it off asap, I'll be upgrading the vrs badge on the rear

The round skoda badge on the front has no pins, the rear has two pins. The rear vrs and fabia badges are just stuck on.

With regards to lights, use your common sense, providing enough light is showing, a light tint on lights is ok, plenty use laminx too, like a tinting film. Look good.

Also, plenty retro fit leather, or nicer seats, all down to how long your going to keep the car and what your plans are for it.

Matt

All the "genuine" ones on Ebay are noted as having pins on the front ones and looking at the front one on my car it's exactly as "grr666" suggested - the pins have been heat-flattened to fix the badge on...

Hummmmm :-/ how odd, mines here now, only has some black glue foam type stuff on it. I don't remember seeing any holes when I took it off. Either way, most people wouldn't remove it and not replace it, would look odd. Lol

Here's the front one - note the OP said they'd been changed not removed on hisIMG_5518Small.jpg
