Just wondering if anyone on here has owned theirs from new, if so have you had any faults that have developed or has it been totally reliable?

Had it from new on the 13th May 2010 and been very impressed with it on all counts!

Ok ..had an issue with paintwork (minor) flaking off from front bumper which was sorted under warranty but other than that Ive clocked up 13000 trouble free miles!

yeah mate ive had it from new  i had a light on before it was run in lol new throttle bodies :giggle:

other than that............... yeah until a issue last december with either plugs or packs ive had nothing  (touching lots of wood doors)

and to be fair it was the plugs n big service due so thought fudge it and did new packs aswell seeing they were coming off at the time

picked him up oct 1st 2005

B) Not many miles, must be mint.

i do try  its started to venture out abit more often now

big fan of the octy vrs, i was surprised how much i got for the money tbh :o compared to others i looked at, and i always wanted a new car since i started driving, the only downer is that you know every mark on it is happend since you had it emoticon-0106-crying.gif

hence why i hide him on the drive out the way, mite only be a skoda but twas all my money and tis mine

lol would think was a porsche ,i take lil uns shoes of when she gets in her seat and i pick spaces very carfully lol :wonder:

hi my names lloyd and i have issues :drunk:

Delivered new, 2nd Feb 05 with 8 miles on. Currently on 96,800

1 front wheel bearing at 22k (warrenty)

1 centre section exhaust at 59,500 (rusted bracket - warrenty)

1 coil pack at 75ish k

Other than that, just tyres - (getting 20k on fronts before moving to rear for another 20k), tax and insurance (oh, and currently £11,000 of petrol :o )

So I'd say that's not bad on a 6 year old car

Steve

Edit: Forgot the replacement drivers side mirror at about 15k, due to some oik in a carpark - but I can't really hold skoda responsible for that one......

:giggle: I admire you for looking after it like that. My previous car was bordering on OCD, but still looked great at 10 years old. "If" you ever sell it, give me a shout! ;)

I personally think all of those things that went wrong are acceptable Steve, quite impressive. Like the £11k of petrol used

Not so keen myself..... :giggle:

it was close the other month, it was going to go for a mk5 R32 :smirk:

but we desided to swap the mrs furbie up to a bigger size ready for lil un number 2 when it happens :giggle: made more sence too that way and would get some more use out the octy

the theory was my mrs got the bigger handy size car now and i can swap to a not so handy or kiddie friendly 3 door golf lol :giggle:

but until then im treating the octy to new shoes and feet

no doubt mate i shall give heads up to the brisk community on any selling ideas tho ;)

Good point, well made! :smirk:

It's just that I only paid £13.5k for the car.....

We did have a 4.0l jeep grand cherokee too - but I couldn't bear to tally the fuel for that (esp. when towing a horse box!!)

 I was on very good terms with my local shell garage, being mapped for V power didnt help either! Bet the cherokee liked a drink!!!! :giggle:

I've had mine from new.

98000km and 6 and a half years so far.

Problems I've had:

Steamed up indicator and dash rattle - covered under warranty

SAI pump started to fail at 6 years old - removed.

Aircon o-ring failed at 5 years old. Needed a new one and a re-gas.

Um.. that's about it apart from service items and the odd rattle.

Remapped at 10,000 miles.

Sill on original brakes (pads and discs) and clutch.

i swapped my classic scooby for my octy, mine was mapped for v power aswell,i was using £60 plus fuel a week, plus the closest shell was 8 mile away, used to cost a tenner just going to fill up.lol
