Seatbelt socket problem

Featured Replies

OK, seems that my cars haven chosen this month to play silly buggers!

The latest problem is the drivers seatbelt socket, buckled up fine, un-buckled fine, but now won't buckle up properly. To get the seatbelt in now I have to push down the eject button while inserting the seatbelt, and the bongs when you start don't recognise the belt being in.

Looking into the socket I can see that the wide metal plate that should appear to reach the entire width of the hole is stuck at the bottom and only a small bit of metal, about the size of the hole in the seatbelt toungue is in the way.

Is it possible to dismantle/fix the sockets, or is it another trip to the knackers year to get hold of one of these?

Tom

I think I'd get another one rather than take a risk on the seatbelt coming undone in an accident.

I took mine off and put them on my new seats. Just one bolt holding them on, but I had my seat out at the time which made it easy. Not a hard job though...
