16% error like that should be an MOT fail. Maybe like mine it had the wrong tyres to begin with? (should have been 165/70R13) Technically 205/30R17 should be the correct profile - if the speedo isn't dodgy then the 40 profile should make it under-read which again is a definite MOT fail, so I would definitely check it like you said and hope any errors cancel each other out!

No it's not. The speedo is not and has never has been a part of the MOT test.

Random question but do you do photography by chance? Damn sure I used to see that car when we did longcross etc when we played at rally years back.

Look at the rear doors a bit more closely! :p

Yes - you have a good memory as its 7 years now since I owned that car - still doing the photography though

What car did you used to rally?

My bad, I'd always been told it was. I guess it's only a potential issue if you get pulled over then.

before rolling roads for brake tests then cars were road tested and the speedo was part of the MOT but they are no longer tested as there is no road testing involved

Dave

Edit* erm also i tested the speedo against a digital speed camera thing near my house, tells you how fast your doing, at 30 on speedo im doing 29 :)

Google images powered thread revival :D

Anyone know what arches these are? They don't look as large as the kit car ones. I like them. Even more of a longshot that they'd still be available, but you never know :p

I after some too... still looking been busy on my felicia my alloys are in need off repair or I would put pick up running 16s 7.5j

Hi ive just fitted a set of 17" azev A's 7.5j onto my skoda pickup.... tgey came from a vw corrado... tge offest is slightly different to the origonal 15inch skoda wheels but they fit spot on with no rubbing issues... the hieght of the truck rose by approx 15mm but a set of springs shoukd sort that out... as for handling it has 64bhp... u dont by a pickup if ya want handling... its a pickup lol.... as a note on handling... u can get the strut brace from the petrol car version and it fits straight on that should tighten the front end up a bit....
