Went looking at IS200's this weekend. Had four to look at but two of them fell through so went to look at the other two. One limited edition and one sport. Both 2004's The limited edition was in pretty good nick except all four alloys needed repairing / refurbing but they said they would have them done before i got the car. With the trade in for mine i would have been paying £1000. So kept it in mind and went and looked at the sport...... That was the same story all four alloys were very badly curbed and the car was in worse nick too so forgot about that one.

So had a look through autotrader again and found another limited edition down in Leicester at a Seat dealership. Looked in very good nick and also looked like it had got some extras on it that are normally only on the sport model.... Privacy glass, alluminium pedals, spoiler.... But this was an IS300.

Did a bit of research and found loads of comments back over on the Lexus owners club saying the 300 was everything the 200 should have been so thought i'd give it a try. Went down with the mrs this morning and had a look at it and took it out for a test drive and was very happy with it. Having had an IS200 a few yuears ago i can honestly say the other people were right and it's a cracking car to drive. Got back to the dealership and worked out a deal and have paid £1000 for it after trading mine in..... Thing is for the same price as i was looking at with the 200 we say yesterday it's obviously the 300 not 200, it's in a hell of a lot better nick than the 200 we nearly got was and that price also includes a 12 month warranty too. (There are branches nearer to us than the one in Leicester)

So there we go i'm waving bye bye to the Furby after four and a half years and saying hello again to Lexus.

Cheers

Dave.

lol that's the one. It's had a wash since though so no bird crap on it today. Had two new tyres fitted on it yesterday too.

I'll add the other two dealer pics once I get home later. ;)

lol...... Actually found out today that the metal pedals, privacy glass & spoiler were all standard on the IS300. So back when it was brand new all you got extra for it being a limited edition over the standard 300 were the different grille, the colour and the different alloys!!!!! And they even released the alloys as an option for other models in the end.

Called in at Lexus Sheffield the other day and they pulled off the cars entire service & fault history. Nothing serious in there at all and everything has been done at Lexus Leicester apart from it's last service this year.

Cheers

Dave.
