Can cruise control be fitted to my Fabia?

Featured Replies

The simple answer for most is yes.

A quick check to see if you have a suitable control unit is easy enough.

Pop down the cubby tray on the right hand side and have a look in towards the diagnostic socket. Above the socket is a square black control unit with two lines of plus on it. If the plugs are at either end then it is a 6Q0 or 6Q1 and will support cruise control. If the right hand line is in the middle its a 6Q2. You can swap the control unit for the other type, but they are £300 to buy from VAG.

The job includes replacing the original indicator stalk with the OE cruise item and then wiring to the XS3 socket on the central electrics control unit and then one wire to the engine ECU.

im about to fit cruise to my fabia this week, ordered parts today. came to £46.
