I have these, They are front facing and very bright. Probably not the best

out there but high quality none the less. For the money... I rate 'em

I bought these - here's the history being returned with them to the seller tomorrow:

· Bought 29/10/10

· Fitted 2/11/10 to my 2007 Skoda Fabia vRS – initially everything was fine

· Found on 5/12/10 that one had failed

· Original bulbs put back in on 5/12/10 and both worked - hence confirmation the

LED bulb had failed - subsequently proved by testing on a 12V supply

They did look good but I'd expect more life than that! I think I'll stick with ordinary bulbs...

Another vote for the LEDs that GRR fitted. I now have two sets - one in the number plate illumination, and the sidelights. And I'll be getting another set soon for the interior lighting!

Ditto. Weird eh?

You get what you pay for, thought the ebay ones were too cheap , I got the Autobulbs ones. DRJ has had a problem too.

Not sure if this was mentioned earlier in the thread - but even the CANBUS ready LED's can cause errors if fitted in the wrong polarity.

Most of the vendors put a note in the package as delivered to say if the LED behaves oddly - then re-insert in the opposite polarity.

This sorted my issue....

Also - Alan (bluvrs2) - mine do work with the ignition off and in parking lights mode too.

Thanks Steve< just spent half an hour changing the poarity for them not to work at all, to then putting them back in again. As I said before I can live without parking lights

Aren't LEDs diodes? (the clue's in the name  ) Diodes only allow current to flow in one direction - hence if they're put in the wrong way round they won't work at all...

David, you are correct on the diode statement - go to the top of the class. BUT most advanced CANBUS ready LED's have some form of rectification/regulation circuit on the mini-pcb.

The cheap ones just have big resistors on there to draw more current and fool the electronics that way. It depends on how much you spend really.

So an expensive one can be put in either way round?

I've had these in my Octi for a few months now and have had no problems at all

AlexandJen,

How have these coped with the cold weather? Both Raf_75 and I have fitted some and both experienced failures when the weather got really cold.

I've just ordered these which will hopefully compliment my HID's when they arrive. And as long as they fail within 6 months the seller will replace them.

I have already got a set, but they are a bit to blue for my liking, up for grabs on the for sale forums.

Let me know how you get on, looking for a replacement set now!

Still going strong, no failures as yet

That's cos you live in the "soft" south, not had a proper winter yet! emoticon-0110-tongueout.gif

Probably right, has only got down to -11 here so far, practically a heatwave :giggle:

Happy with mine but pageys look brighter with more leds , the ones I have just 2 on each side these have 4 forward facing too, will get them as well

I'm now fed up with replacing LED's every couple of months. I've had two replaced under guarantee, but now the seller won't get back to me about my next replacement. I'm a bit cheesed off to say the least. http://www.ultraleds.co.uk/ultimate-501t10194-watt-ultra-xenon-white-p-1684.html IMO due to the mk1 fabia having the sidelight so close to the main bulb is the issue, LED's just don't like massive heat changes, even if they say on the packet they will work. They are by far the brightest LED I have seen in a w5w fitment though.

Has anyone got any pictures of the Osram 21d halogen cool blue bulbs? I'm after brightness, not how white they are!

Just received the ones pagey recommended ordered 21 Dec and arrived today very quick considering the bank holidays etc, brighter than my originals, and they STAY ON, when ignition is off unlike my £20 ones

I have just returned mine  still to blue imho!

I don't know what it is with me and these bloomin' LED sidelights, but going back to the original bulbs is horrible. So, here are the next set that I am trying! I'm hoping that with them being Philips, and it says 'heat resistant' that they actually might last more than a few months! (I didn't pay £30 for them either :) ) http://www.powerbulbs.com/product_detail.asp?prod=179

Here is a photo showing the 6000k and 4000k versions of the same Philips units, personally I prefer the 4000k.

The 6000k definately seem brighter but Blueeeeeeeeeee!!! Having said that, the 4300k seem a bit yellow, the HIDs I have ordered are 5000k so hopefully somewhere inbetween.

Well they arrived this morning, 4000k is not yellow at all. However I can clearly see a colour difference between the two bulbs I have received! :wall: So much for quality control at Philips if you can't match a pair of LED's on colour in the same packet!

Thats outrageous! I would be on the blower demanding answers!
