Hi,

I have a mk1 90bhp tdi and it lacks in a little power to say the least,

so i was woundeing if any one could tell me the differnce bettween the lesser bhp engines and the highter ones (.i.e 130 bhp) and weather or not it easy to change parts to get more power.

Had one friend tell me that it fuel rail, injectors and ecu

another told me it was those and cams,

So if nany one can help me out i would be most greatfull.

Thanks James

A remap and breathing mods would be the first stage (i.e., decent CAI, exhaust etc.). It's also worth cleaning out the intake manifold if the car has any kind of high mileage on it as this can apparently suck quite a bit of power. Then it's on to bigger injectors, turbos etc., but that also means bigger money . . . .

The 130 is a PD engine and thus very different to yours. The turbos however do swap over but its quite a meal to get the fueling right afterwards.

The difference with the 90 and 110 engine comes with injectors and turbo.

The 130 has a PD Engine completely different injector system.

I have the injectors and turbo from the 110 engine - should be good for 140 bhp if you are interested.

I understand the nozzles off a T4 or T5 Transporter (not sure which) do the job nicely on a 90hp motor.

There's an article on the mkIV website
