Brake lights only centre one working

Featured Replies

MK1 Fabia 1.4 TDI.

I have read various posts but cannot find the specific answer as to why my Glow Plug light is winking on the dash panel with ONLY my Centre Brake Light working.

I would have thought all brake lights would have been on the same circuit.

Any ideas greatly appreciated.

It's because you have two faulty brakelights. I would imagine the left, and the right ones.

If the bulbs are OK it'll be a faulty brakelight switch

It can't be the switch, because the centre light is working :)

There is only one brake light switch, if the centre one is working you can assume the switch is working.

DOH ! Quite right.

However they were working OK yesterday, on checking I find that BOTH bulbs are dud and that both bulbs are blacked over.

Exactly the same prob i had this week , 2 gone together all black .

I remember reading something about the Glow Plug light being significant to the Brake Lights in certain circumstances.

However, I have no idea what!
