Brand New vRS - £16,000

Featured Replies

Why does anyone buy a Golf or Passat?

Because it has a VW badge so it must be better than a Skoda ......... when the general public realise this is no longer true then Skoda will cost as much as a VW, with no doubt less spec.

Better off buying direct from Skoda as u get 2yrs 0% finance on VRS, keep the money in an ISA to make interest.

What interest? :giggle:

As for the car, this is just brand marketing at its best. Those who feel the other brands offer better value to them can pay that way, and those who arent so hung up on branding can pay it in the Skoda direction. VAG covering all audiences.

You do get so much more for youre money with the £24185 Golf GTD!!

Sorry thats a bit unfair, you can get it for at least £23362!!

LED tail lights

MDI as standard

Bluetooth Hands Free Car Kit

Rain Sensitive Wipers

Probably Autolights

and the uprated CR that does 43.5mpg in TOWN!!

hehe add all that to the vRS and its STILL cheaper. - oh forgot - at least you'll get a proper boot in the vRS

Ugly or expensive, you decide.

to be fair you can't compare the Passat to the Octavia and it's classed as being in a different sector. The Passat is much bigger in every way and a different kind of drive - I had one for a short while before buying my VRS. Pleae note though, bigger does not mean better ;)

Buy from DriveTheDeal and it's £5.48 cheaper AND you can access all Skoda dealer finance options!

Spoke to a dealer last Wed. He wished things would quieten down, he's selling too many cars. 7 month waiting list on Yetis and 4 on Octavias.

It that VAG's new strategy to drive people back to VW and Audi? Reduce production so that people get so p|ssed off they pay the extra to get a VAG car?

If not VAG surely won't put up with the defection from it's more profitable marques to Skoda?

Mate at work went to order a petrol VRS at the weekend. 8 month waiting list!

He is wating for a call to see if they will accept his order so he gets the VAT free price.

He was offered a 2000 mile old one but at only £400 less than new.

I love it when people say Skoda has the wrong badge or VW/AUDI are better.

It shows how much(or little!) they actually know about the car industry.

Having had my new vRS for just over a week now I have'nt stopped smiling.

Got an amazing deal and px price for my old vRS and took advantage of the 0% VAT and low rate finance.

Thanks Skoda! B)

Its not VAG , delaying Skodas, VW have the same problem.

There have been a couple of threads about Skoda delays, & VW / Skoda relationship, basically joe public has realised that VW are over priced & Skoda are seen to be very good value for money & are stealing sales from VW across the board, but mostly from polo to Fabia.

Because of this they are seriously considering taking away a lot of standard options & making them optional extras, without reducing price accordingly.

If VW arent selling because of percieved quality, surely VAG need to look at the VW brand.

8 month waiting list ay lol if someone whats to pay what I paid for mine they are welcome to buy it :p

trouble with VW is not just the cars but the dealerships. They have a attude of we make the best cars you will buy one, only audi are even more stuck up. 3 times I've looked at getting a VW and everytime the dealerships have not phoned back or sent the information to me.

Before I got the Octavia I looked the the golf GTD, a few things put me off 1) the same spec on VW website was nearly 30k, 2) even though I requested a test drive they would not let me have one unless I made an order!

So yet again Skoda got the sale.

The waiting lists are because VAG scaled down production when the recession hit, which also meant their suppliers did the same. Car sales have picked up quicker than expected, and it's a big commitment to ramp things back up, unless the recovery looks sustained.

I notice it says Power Seats on the spec! is this a new option?

it will not be just skoda...skoda actually manufacture for the whole VAG group as well dont forget, the 1.2 tsi is made at Mlada Boleslav for the entire VAG group and it will be the same right through..gearboxes in 1 or 2 plants, different engines made at different sites then shipped to assembly lines right through VW/audi/skoda and seat
