Buying New Tyres Need Help / Advice

Featured Replies

Hi All,

The first:

Superb GreenLine 1.9 PD

Do I Need:

205/55R16 94V OR 205/55R16 91V OR 91H

As at the moment I have Continental Contact 2 (It hink they are - 205/55R16 91V)

So CONFUSED

As I type my plate number in the web for tyre search and they give 94V (As more expensive tyres better for them?)

Do I need 91V or 94V or 91H ?????/ :dull:

The GreenLine booklet show 16†‘Spectrum’ alloys (7J x 16†205/55 R16 91H)

The second

I looking to buy 4 New tyres for my GreenLine 1.9 TDI PD

Hard to decide what will be the best choice for all season tyres?

I do not have any winter season tyres so looking to buy something 2 in 1 “All Season Tyre or Summer Tyres but possibility to drive in winter time say wet gripâ€

The budget is 50-80 Pounds per Tyre - not fitted

So 4 Tyres can cost 4 x 50-80 = 200 – 320 Pounds + Fittings 10 x 4 = 40 Pounds

Continental Contact 2 the last winter was terrible as can not move from the 5 Percent angle hill.

These tyres are not bad compare to budgets tyres but not brilliant.

I drive same road all 4 Years and have other car with avon tyres and have problems short life on them

Avon Compare to Contacta 2

Yes Contacta on the grip will be better but on the screw or nail collection from the road Contacta will be the best as this Year 4 Times needed to repair the tyre Total cost repair 120 Pounds so ….

These is my more favourite list

I looking to buy:

These tyres 94 V - So more expensive to buy but do I need this 94V

Nokian Z G2 205/55 ZR16 94W 60 Pounds (Nice tyre for Summer but don't think it is capable any winter or snow)

Hankook Ventus V12 Evo 205/55 ZR16 94W XL 4PR 70 Pounds (Look more better will be in winter time Maybe it is good tyre ?)

Ventus Prime K105 205/55 R16 94W XL 4PR with rim protection asymmetric 71 Pound (Do not know looks in the picture not bad ?)

91V Tyres are more cheaper and I can choice from 100 options

Continental Sport Contact 2 205/55 R16 W (91) 62 Pounds

Pirelli P7 205/55 R16 V (91) 54 Pounds

Goodyear Excellence 205/55 R16 V (91) 58 Pounds

Goodyear Optigrip 205/55 R16 V (91 62 Pounds

Any REVIEW

THANK YOU

Your greenline (according to the brochure) should be fitted with:

16” ‘Spectrum’ alloys (7J x 16” 205/55 R16 91H)

It is OK to use a higher load or speed rated tyre, but they normally cost more.

I have Dunlop Sport 01's on my MKI which coped very well last year and I get about 18k out of the fronts and 30+K out of the rears.

look on camskill you will get them cheaper

205/55 R16 91H BSW Pirelli P600 FItted from MyTyres...

As mentioned, Camskill, Nankang NS2 - £37.10 + fitting

Al.
