I dont see how joining the army, learning to put up a Vango in a force 8 in Wales, smearing my face in rabbit droppings, doing endless marching ( or "walking" as we civilians call it ) , signing lots of chitties with my oppos, usually called Welsho or Jock or Smithy, drinking copious amounts of "brew"and eating too much nutty is going to stand me in better stead than a fictional video game loosely based on an undeclared war from 30 years ago.

And I like the self heal button too much to do it in real life.

But I guarantee I will be better prepared than a console player............

Seems there are Black Ops "available" on-line for PC and EggBox. Most seem Russian as usual.

Think I will just wait till Tuesday though as there will be no servers until then anyway.

That's the problem with PC'S! When I was a lad (jackanory lol)we were happy with Wolfenstien and DukeNukem on 3x1.44mb floppy disks on a 386dx33 ! Now you have to have the processing power of a small town to even get a game to fire up let alone play it at a decent frame rate! PS3/XBOX make it more accessable dont they?

Your quite right if Josh had his way I would be camping out with primus stove in hand just to grab a first edition!

Whats teh deal with the servers on this?. ive heard conflicting reports...

The servers , well we wont know 100% until its installed on it. But , things we do know - They are rented al a BC2 from 1 single company. Ours is physically in NL for our cross EU player base. We have went unranked 18 player max. The unranked "should" give us more flexibility with regards to config and mods ( there is a mod section on my server cpanel )

* Game Servers will not be released until right around midnight. Expect to spend some time for unranked. Ranked should be quick.

* A RCON Tool w GUI will be released with the game(may be a separate download)

* 18 Player Max for Ranked

* 24 Max for Unranked

* Custom Server Banners and Message of the Day are supported as well as server messages

* -Built-in RCON functionality (we will have to confirm if you can rcon via console)

-Kick & ban

* Wager matches will ONLY be hosted by Treyarch and allow 6 People Max

* No Nades for First 10 Secs

* Hardcore mode

*confirmed* Unranked servers you can control or remove perks and killstreaks. Even on xbox there is a no perks and a cod4 only perk mode.

You actually have more control of your servers as far as server options out of the box with Black Ops than you did with any other COD.

There is supposed to be a lot of server variables we can control.

This is big really helps the competitive community. Maps are a good size and no spawn nades
