Hi guys - talk me into it

Featured Replies

Hello folks - I'm John and I drive a Focus (don't hate me for it :D).

I am currently considering changing the Focus and one of the cars I am thinking of is a petrol VRS. Cars around 6 years old currently roughly fall into budget, but most of what I am looking at has around 100k miles on the clock.

I know that 100k miles on a car that has been well looked after isn't anything to be concerned about these days, but is there anything that can go wrong in a big way around this mileage? What needs to have been done by that point and will the car still have the legs and be a good drive with 100k under its belt? Interior is as important as exterior/under bonnet too.

Further to this, what is the standard suspension set up and is there a good upgrade in terms of a decent lowering spring/good gas shock that gets fitted by most folk?

Talk me round!!

Just get looking round your local dealers and have a few test drives, believe me once you have tried one you will be sold. Welcome to Briskoda

Hi and welcome aboard.

Thanks for the welcome. Any tips on buying? I guess my budget stretches to about £2500 which would take me to a high-miler 2004ish mk1 VRS.
