The whisling sounds like teh turbo does but quite faint. It is audible at tickover and low revs when the car starts. i know the whistle/whoosh that comes on with the turbo spooling up but I didn't think I should expect anything below 1500rpm? Seems to go away after the engine has warmed up properly... any thoughts. KKK turbo.

leave it idling for a little while and you heard a slight whistle thinks it got something to do with the egr valve. that might be what you can hear blip the throttle and the whistling should stop

It's the turbo wastegate opening. It's totally normal and should stop if you blip the throttle.
