Build dates "disappeared"

Featured Replies

My car was due for build week 47 i.e. the week after next.

My dealer (Citygate, London) have now told me that all build dates have been "deleted" from their system while the factory updates their schedule to "accommodate extra capacity".

Anyone heard anything similar?

It's been happening for some time now on orders now and again.

Thanks James, any substance in the "extra capacity" bit??

Hi,

yes there increasing build capacity at Kvasiny for both the Yeti and Superb, by moving Roomster production out to Vrchlabí now the production of the Octavia I (Tour) has ceased at this plant My link. Increased production levels start around January I believe.

I seem to be 'trapped' in this black hole - my car should have been built this week (45)

Who knows when it might surface now - not my dealer or SUK!

Got a feeling it might be a 2011 delivery now?

BW43 was a couple of weeks ago, we are currently at the end of BW45.

I ordered on 18 August and was given build week 48 a couple of weeks later. Two weeks ago, I was told my car had disappeared off the system and it has apparently not yet reappeared!

I queried this with Skoda UK and was told that any build week information is effectively useless until you are told that a car will definitely be built (usually only about two weeks before it actually happens).

I had been looking forward to my SM as a Christmas/New Year present - I guess it may now be nearer Easter!

I would appear to be one of the lucky ones- James has told me mine is due to be built next week, week 46.

Mike

Looks like my build week has gone past (wk45) with no word from Kuldip at Malborough , London to say that its not been built . So heres hoping it will arrive some time next week :)

gp001, they normally take about 3 weeks to get from the factory to the dealer, then they have to PDI the car, so don't get your hopes up too much (I'm still waiting for my BW43 to be delivered)

Gizmo68, thanks for the advice . this is the first time that i have bought a new car so unsure of how it will all work out .. took the risk of getting it through DTD,,,and so far everything worked out ok .. well thats me sitting next to the phone for a wee while longer i guess  any advice that i can get will be very much appreciated.

James at Allams told me mine was build week 47 so I'm worried if all BW 47 have disappeared from the system emoticon-0106-crying.gif .

Hi

I'm way down the list as things go [week 11 next year!] but I had a telephone call from SUK yesterday regarding an e-mail query, on other matters, I had sent them the day before.

I spoke to a guy called John, who was very helpful.

He informed me that build week 11 equated to week beginning 14 March 2011. Vehiicles usually take 4/5 days to build so should roll off the line 18/19 March. He quoted approximately four weeks after that for delivery from plant to Emden and on to UK. Therefore vehicle would be ready for pick up approximately 9th to 16th April.

However, ALL build dates were currently subject to review as production of Yeti model was expected to be increased BUT some components were still in short supply!! Therefore build date could differ considerably, either earlier or later, depending on spec and options selected.

The actual build date could only be confirmed by the Dealer [i am also purchasing via DtD] two weeks beforehand.

Not much comfort for those of us who are anxiously waiting to get our sticky-paws on our SM's but at least that's the latest update.

Good luck in waiting guys. After nearly seven months waiting my Monster is sitting in Emden waiting for a floatation device to Sheerness... And none of these devices have been anywhere near Emden in the last 4 days. emoticon-0145-shake.gif Grrr.

I hope all of you benefit from the increased production and get your Monsters much sooner than you expected!

Great news James. emoticon-0100-smile.gif

Now, am I going to resist becoming a "sad" ship tracker after 28th November?

I got the same information from my dealer in Malmö, Sweden yesterday. My Yeti was due for build this week. Now there is no information what so ever when to expect delivery. I directly replied that I will not be interested in the car anymore unless I get a set of winter tyres as a compensation if it will be delivered afet christmas now that all my christmas plans has to be rearranged. :-(

Johann and his Yeti - I kind of imagine them running together along the beach when it arrives, and embracing, like those moving weepy romance movies...emoticon-0100-smile.gif

Hope it IS soon for you, and you fall in love like what i 'ave!

Awh! emoticon-0136-giggle.gif Thanks... I think it will be love at first sight yes... BUT I have to also say bye to a car that I have loved way, WAY too much. The A2 is such a clever car, so ahead of its time and crawled under my skin like nothing before. Hearing that 3 cylinder growl this past weekend driving to Lincolnshire just put a tear in my eye (already) as that noise is what I'll miss the most I think. emoticon-0106-crying.gif I love that the new CR TDIs are quiet and all, but it is amazing with character a weird sounding 3 cylinder engine gives a car. My old V5 Golf was the same, as the sound of a five cylinder is also very special. So going the four cylinder route after having a 5 and a 3 is going to be a real come down for me... But I know there will much, much more to make up for it in the Yeti!
