Yeti Weight

Featured Replies

I am a VW Touran owner (4 years) and now about to change my car. Originally I was thinking of a VW Tiguan but having just seen the Yeti I am having a re-think. One thing I am wondering about is why the published data shows the Yeti to be so much lighter in weight than the Tiguan. In particular, the 2 litre TDI CR 170 bhp Yeti weighs in at 1,535 kg "Kerb Weight", whilst the 2 litre TDI 170 Tiguan is quoted at 1,681 kg "unladen Weight". I realise that the Yeti is about 8 inches less in length, but still seems a large difference in weight. Are the manufacturers using different definitions of weight? Or maybe there is a difference in engineering robustness? Would appreciate some insight if anyone can help. many thanks.

Badges have more letters ? VOLKSWAGEN TIGUAN - SKODA YETI :giggle: sorry only thing i could think of but am sure someone will have a more sensible answer.
