"Mooing kit"

This is the apparent elusive fix kit for the creaking rear brakes on the Fabia.

My car is in the garage at the moment having this fitted along with a few other things I've detailed before... Am getting it back on Saturday so will update on whether or not it has done the trick...

My car is also getting this fixed next week, Skoda still havent released a Recall or Bulletin about it, but will cover the work under warranty.

"Mooing kit"...

Is this something for communicating with our bovine friends then.

Last time this subject was brought up I bragged how mine hadn't 'mooed' for weeks.

Did it the next day, but hasn't done it since.

Well we all know what that means now ey!

I suppose it is called a "mooing kit" because it makes the sound "low" (Geddit?)

More likely to be called a mooing kit because when the brakes play up, your car sounds like a cow mooing...

Do they do one for the Octy cos it sounds like you're battering a seal to death in those cars.

My garage told me to be more aggressive with the brakes, glazing on the disks & pads equals mooing apparently. Maybe they just didn't want to do the work ?

I was informed they are shims that are put in the carriers so I would get back to the garage and tell them to stop talking rubbush and sort it.

Holy cow. About time two - only taken them 17 months.

Its not too much of a problem so I'll be sure to be adding it to the list of niggles for when the car has its next (first) service in about three months time, thanks.

That wasn't 'grazing', was it?

LOL

They tried to fob me off with glazed pads at first but with a bit of persistence (and a hint of insider knowldege from Briskoda) they conceded it was a genuine problem and looked into it... and hopefully I'll pick it up all sorted tomorrow...

Skoda have just phoned me now to say that my car won't be ready for collection tomorrow!

Skoda UK apparently supplied them the wrong immobiliser code for the new dash cluster, they punched it in and blocked the new cluster so they have to order another one...

This is getting silly now... fortunately they are going to deliver the car down to me on Monday or Tuesday... so will have to wait til then for an update...
