Anyone got a Yeti with electric drivers seat?

Featured Replies

I need to settle this once and for all.

Does anyone in the UK have the electric drivers seat pack?

Does your car have the electric folding wing mirrors?

I had a guy in a month or so ago with a French Yeti which had the electric seat, and that did have the electric folding mirrors, I thought that UK Yetis would have the same but I'm not 100% sure now so I need to be sure!

Anyone able to assist?

Cannot help I'm afraid as still waiting for my SM but I'm priming myself for a fight with Skoda if the answer confirms that there are no electrically foldly mirrors on UK spec (how many of us would have gone with just the electric seat for £500 without folding mirrors?). It's incredibly worrying that neither dealers with the resources they have nor Skoda UK itself actually know something as fundamental as this! (I'm not knocking you James - you can only go by what you have available). What has made you think that folding mirrors might not be on the UK spec?

I was firmly told in the previous thread that clearly folding mirrors are part of the Electric seat option because it says so on the configurator. It doesn't actually say that they are electrically folding at all - it says that they are electrically adjustable and that they fold, it's easy to read into it that they are electrically folding of course which is the way we've all read it. I'm keeping everything crossed for a positive result.

Have you called Skoda Marketing, James? They have sent emails to dealers who ask, categorically stating that whilst the Superb does have electrically folding mirrors, the Yeti Elegance (or any other Yeti) does not. This was also the same reply I received from SUK Customer Service yesterday. I've also been told that a Yeti Elegance with the £500 option was delivered last week and it did not have electrically folding mirrors.

I've been asking on here for someone to categorically state that they do have them...and to offer documentary evidence to back it up.......but whilst everyone has been told that they do.....no-one has come up with the proof. Isn't one expected to be delivered today by someone here?......was it 'davehutch' ? he said on the 18th...."I'll find out on Saturday when I pick mine up".

The codes PWB and PW9, according to them do refer to the electric seat and mirror options but don't specifically relate to any folding operation for the mirrors.

I hope they are all wrong and they do come with them as this would affect the decision I make personally but wait now for any further info.

Folding mirors are no longer mention in Serbian configurator :(

Several days ago there was word "..and folding mirrors" in elec. seat mirror options, now there is no word folding at all!

I'm sure e few months ago the UK configurator said that you also get the folding mirrors with the electric seat pack but just checked it again and it seems that there is no mention of electrically folding mirrors now?

It's best to wait until one turns up with one, I should have a Yeti here in the next 2 weeks with the optional pack so I can check and make 100% sure.

But I'm so convinced that it should come with them since I saw that LHD Yeti with the option and something I've read somewhere also suggests that it comes with the pack.

This is copied from the UK Configurator 5 minutes ago "The door mirrors can be electrically adjusted or folded in when parked, to avoid any knocks of scrapes." by selecting the 'no cost option' against and Elegance and including the electric driver's seat. It still seems a little ambbiguous but it seems to me that the mirrors adjust and fold electrically. I sure hope so because I have just added the option to my order.

That's how I read and understood it. Shame they don't make it clearer!!

I think we are all going to be very disappointed. Oldstan seems to have got the definitive answer. It seems they electrically adjust AND you can fold them (big deal). The folding function does not appear electrical. I wonder whether I am even going to bother with the option pack at all.

I only ordered the electric seat option to get the folding mirrors, I have a very narrow entrance and have to fold mirrors in to get through.

I cannot do anything about the width of the entrance as it forms part of the the two building alongside, I need a vehicle with folding mirrors and would be very unhappy if the Yeti arrives without.

A very big "OH DEAR" from me here....I'm a bit disappointed. It is just a car but we do like our gadgets :-)

James, you did seem so very, very positive that they folded. I feel sorry that this is putting a bit of a damper on things, but you must have had your reasoning and maybe (i) they do come folding or (ii) you were given to understand that they did come folding in the UK but things have changed without your knowing or being told.

EDIT It would now seem definite that they do not fold electrically. There's two bods on here plus one other that I'm independantly told of, which was delivered last week, all with the £500 option and all without power folding function.

I imagine that those owners now receiving (i.e. having paid for) their SM's without folding mirrors despite ordering the Electric seat option on the understanding that they would get folding mirrors could possibly have some recourse to Skoda by way of an ex-gratia payment - Quick, take a screenprint of the configurator before Skoda take it down! The mirrors option may have shown as 'no cost' but in reality it was a significant part of the 'Electric Seat' functionality and certainly I have committed to the option pack on the basis that I would receive folding mirrors (in fact it was the final item that tipped the balance for me changing my Qashqai.) In my case I have the option of pulling out of the deal entirely if I see fit so I doubt that I can do too much.

Edit: Just looked again at my invoice and the Skoda configurator sheet I used to advise the dealer of my options. It doesn't show 'folding' mirrors. I think we're totally stuffed on this issue whether you've stumped up the cash or not - unless we could negotiate an ex-gratia payment for misrepresentation of a product. Hmmm...

Of course I could be totally wrong and they all arrive with foldies

Having had Roxy 14 days now, can conform that the electric (!) chair is wonderful, as well as the demist and dimming wing mirrors - but fold and unfold they do not. Am and I happy with out it ? Hell Yes! I still feel very smug every time I get in and drive :D:D I did scare myself the other day, when I floored it for the first time, I wasn't quite expecting to get to the other side of the roundabout so quickly!!!

Where's that 'davehutch' when you most need him?

If he picked it up today, he's probably out enjoying himself in it.

Dave, your ears must be burning, get yourself 'ere, we need you.

Oldstan - why? I think we have enough info now (confirmed by Mr.P) to confirm that electric folding mirrors are not an option on the Yeti, irrespective of spec or option pack. (Unless of course you want DaveHutch for something else and I've missed it!)

No, I suppose not.....I guess I was just hoping he would say he's got them and all would be well. But you're right, it does look a firm 'No' on that one. Shame.

I'm back! Christ it's a long way to Mansfield and back.

The dealer very kindly showed me how the electrically folding mirrors work on an Octavia...no such luck on the SM though :'(

I ordered the "electric chair" simply because I'm 6'3" and 'er indoors is 5'3" so the mirrors would have been a bonus. I will persevere tomorrow but it's looking unlikely considering what others have now discovered

I've only had a couple of tries and now it's time for Harry Hill and X-Factor so tomorrow I have to find out how to play my iPhone music through the bluetooth system because that doesn't seem to work. I've got it to work twice but it's not a reliable process so I need to pin down the reason.

I love the colour though and the engine is excellent so I'll post some pictures shortly.

OK then. Ta for responding. It's definitely a definite 'No' then, especially if he showed you how to work them on the Octy and you can't get them to fold on the Yeti.

Good that your happy with everything else . (bluetooth excepted) Enjoy yourself. Ditto the Mrs.

PS. You should still have the memory function on the glass within the mirror housing though, even if they don't electrically fold? Which is kind of what I imagine you're saying would help with the height differential twixt you and the Mrs.

Mirrors can be set up for different keys. In the L&K I had one key and my wife the other. Unlock, open door and seat & mirrors move to stored position.

So do you have power fold mirrors, or not is the question we all want to know.

Davehutch has, regrettably, replied in the negative in his post...you missed it.

Mike, do you gather that the individual key function you refer to would apply in the case of the Yeti?

We seem to be finding out that what applies to Octy and Superb may not necessarily apply to Yeti.

Exactly. Had another quick go with the bluetooth and it seems to respond if you press the right hand button on the Bolero (the manual radio tuning knob).

Tomorrow will be when I try to get it be repeatable.

Oh yes, the dimming mirrors are just the mutt's nuts!

My Octavia Elegance, which was one of the very early facelifts, came with the normal manual seats and in addition to boarding spots has the power fold mirrors. They can be folded via the rotary control knob on the driver's door or by holding down the key fob's lock button. The early facelift even came with a matching 16" alloy spare wheel. Both the spare wheel & power fold mirrors have long gone from the standard spec. but why the electric folding mirrors are potentially linked to the electric seat option seems crazy. It certainly was not the case with my Octy.

Power fold mirrors, if not standard, should be optional and independant of the electric memory seat package.

We are still not 100% certain whether or not the Yeti with power seats does or does not have power fold mirrors. (don't give up just yet Oldstan :o)

Reminds me of a similar fiasco we had on early Octy facelifts regarding DRLs - all UK ones arrived without them being activated, they did not appear on the Maxidot menu & dealers at that time hadn't got a clue as to their set up or even if it was possible.

"We are still not 100% certain whether or not the Yeti with power seats does or does not have power fold mirrors. (don't give up just yet Oldstan".........

Nice thought, but we have had two on here who've received the car, in the flesh, both with the pack and both without folders. Plus I've been told by a dealer, of another delivered to a customer last week...without the folders too.

But I'm still willing to receive good news.....

I can't begin to express how disappointed I am at being so misled by SUK. I feel an email coming on and either money back or a retro-fit if they realise the mistake at factory. I'm getting my car Tuesday morning and will check the manual. If that explains the function I think the factory has just been building them wrong - it only being a RHD options since week 45 I believe. If the manual says nothing (as I'm afraid it will) Skoda will pay for my electric seats.

I trawled through my manual (all 200+ pages) and nothing.....
