Anyone got a Yeti with electric drivers seat?

Featured Replies

I can totally understnad all your drustration regarding the Folding Door Mirror, it should be standard!!

Funny enough I remember the W210 Mercedes E-Class used to have fixed mirror (not manually or electronically adjustable - well atleast on some models)

Anyway, found some rather useful email address: http://www.connectotel.com/marcus/ceoemail.html

Funny, it must be me, but I've always understood that to mean:

mirror glass adjusted electronically

mirror body can be folded (manually)

2 seperate entities and not connected.

Shows how different people read things differently.

A bit of a gate crash here - does this mean that the "electrically adjustable and heated mirrors" on my eagerly awaited SE will fold manually or are the fixed?

Thanks in anticipation.

Be assured they fold manually just by pushing them in. The bit about them being fixed was just Skoda UK Marketing getting it wrong.

Wot Stan said!!

The electrical folding mirrors was the one option I would have really liked but wasn't prepared to pay £500 for it. Now glad that I didn't.

I can't believe in this day and age we have a car with, electrically adjustable, heated, auto-dimming (drivers side only by the way), incorporating indicator repeaters and boarding spots which can't be folded electronically. My BMW and Ford Fiesta which I leased, having sold the Bemmer, had this option.

Poor show really but to be expected when an engine under tray which is described as steel turns out to be plastic.

I think they're sailing very close to the wind in terms of trade description legislation, but would no doubt find a get out clause ie product updated, correct description lost in translation.

It's a shame little irregularities such as these tarnish what is essentially a very good product.

The UK Car Configurator has been changed in the last 24 hours. It now reads....

Electrically adjustable and heated door mirrors with auto dimming, memory function and boarding-spots

The later paragraph about folding to avoid scuffs and scrapes is deleted.

The Customer Service Manager did point this out to me today when he called to confirm the situation we all now know about.

Just hope that after bringing this all to the attention of Skoda management, they might just be able to find a fix.....

Please?.... Grovel Grovel.....

Ha ha ha! Good thing someone mentioned then that we take a screen grab BEFORE they remove it!!! And here they are attached should anyone need them for any letters they need to send to SUK.

Just looked at the info for the RRP and it's also been changed since the weekend; now states thermoplastic cover emoticon-0102-bigsmile.gif although the additional panels that were missing from onsque's Monster are still mentioned emoticon-0112-wondering.gif

Rough road package

The rough road package consists of a thermoplastic cover for the engine and transmission, a plastic cover for the fuel and brake lines and reinforced brake fluid distribution system and handbrake cables

Regards,

TP

Then that is what we will get emoticon-0140-rofl.gif

Yeah right...

SUK must be working on it - this part was showing on the configurator but has been removed today :-

The door mirrors can be electrically adjusted or folded in when parked, to avoid any knocks of scrapes."

Now only shows this, on clicking the 'info' button for this "FREE" option - which is standard of course :wall:

Electrically adjustable and heated door mirrors with auto dimming driver's side, memory function and boarding-spots£0

Ok, recevied a call today from Skoda Customer Care. Very Polite gent left me a message.

On calling back he confirmed the option of folding mirror was NOT available across the yeti & he had no information telling him that it would be an option in the future.

He also confirmed he has been assigned this issue and is dealing with it as a matter of priority.

He also offered 50% off the option price and would confrim via email.

Was not expecting it and was very generous.

Well if that's the opening offer - it's a start ...... :thumbup::rofl:

Considering the electric seat has to be worth more than 50% of the overall price of that option - I think thats very fair!

Just had the call from SUK .... apologies, no folding mirrors available - did I want to cancel electric seat? LOL!

No I said isn't there a £250 reduction on offer......silence.... well, Ok we can do that

We'll confirm by email.

So HAGGLE!

And STILL no build date for my August ordered car emoticon-0106-crying.gif

BUT - confirmation that dealers will offer compensation for late deliveries

Result guys!!! What an amazing outcome mere days after contacting Skoda en mass!

Yes, I'm not really happy about not getting the mirrors but hey ho, I'm getting an electric seat for only £250! That will pay for quite a bit of fuel.

This is all very interesting and - despite the disappointment of not having folding mirrors - encouraging. I too still have no build date for an August-ordered Yeti, so do I understand that I would be in line for a £250 refund against the mirrors and some more for delayed delivery? The latter might be a problem as I was never given a specific delivery date in writing. How will we persuade delaers to cough up on either or both of these matters??

HMI nothing has changed on your order. The Yeti was never giong to have electically folding mirrors anyway. It was only SUK's wording that was wrong. So wherever your car was in the queue it will still be there I should think. You will just get £250 from SUK as well! emoticon-0140-rofl.gif

Dealer here,

I've just been contacted by SUK customer care to confirm that the mirrors will not be electrically folding and was also informed of the £250 (although I was told it was to be spent on accessories or servicing).

I was then also contacted by SUK Retailer Support who told me the same thing.

Now can you all get on to SUK and tell them you want the Fabia vRS in Anthracite Grey with black roof and black wheels please! (please don't take me literally on this!)

Andrew - I think the 'delay' payment is administered by the dealerships. It kicks in @ 18 weeks after order and is on a rising scale, i understand?

For me the payment would kick in from week 50.

My dealer has today requested SUK to give some priority to my build - he also told methat there were 31 orders affected by the 'electric chair' issue.

So my reading of the wording was correct. :giggle:

Good to see that SUK are responding and so well.

emoticon-0140-rofl.gif Indeed it was. But so was our view to be honest. That is what ambivalent means! If we had read it wrong, none of us would now have got the £250 back.

But well done SUK to (for once) have a very prompt reply and making us "happy drivers".

Since I read & understood it wright do I get £250.00 as well :giggle:

Ps

A multi-adustable leccy seat for £250.00 is very good value indeed.

That is what James has just told me.

That will do nicely.

I now await the phone call from SUK.

Speaking as the one who raised the topic just a few days ago (it seems like ages, doesn't it?), and who has got he blame for it in the view of one or maybe two here, I would just say I'll not perpetuate it any further. I think most would agree SUK have very promptly addressed it and are doing their best, now, to sort it out and by the sound of it most of those affected are pleased to be receiving some compo. I now know I can't order them on Elegance (the main reason, for me, for going for that trim level) and will get an SE instead. I'm sorry that the topic I started caused some bad feeling with one or two and regret that and was sorry that an abrasive element was introduced . If apologies are in order then I offer mine here and now and would say that I won't keep butting in to other threads and will probably just keep an eye on here and when my Yeti comes I'll let you know.

I thank all of those who have advised me about trim levels etc in other threads which I raised and have found that advice invaluable and it's been of great assistance. Thank you.

No oldstan!!!! Don't hide. Believe me the little banter you saw in this thread is NOTHING compared to what you can get on other threads or forums. Just search for fog lights, snow chains or anything like that and see how the people really get abrasive. I do not see you as the instigator at all. A conversation's course cannot necessarily be blamed on the originator.

So keep on asking questions please and keep on chatting.
