Car Insurance

Featured Replies

Got our renewal and they want £568 which is the most i have ever paid for car insurance, aparatly we are paying more because of uninsured drivers and that claims are becomeing more expensive aswell. Next year it is going up again by 50%.

Well if that's the case, they are simply creating a bigger and more vicious than ever circle.

More and more will drive with no insurance because of the almost unreachable and obscene premiums these vile piranahs are charging..

Don't condone driving without, but I can quite clearly understand why some do.

It's funny about the legal costs comment.

I'm sure I remember a show on TV a while back that showed many barristers were not being paid quickly if at all.

Just a thought then, is that if the allegations made on TV were true and also if some solicitors were being paid the money by the insurance companies for the barristers work this leaves an interesting point.

Potentially the solicitors will have claimed for costs from the insurance company, but if this is not passed this onto the barristers, then surely in some instances this means that the insurance companies are giving money (our money) to solicitors for work which they they never pay for.

IMHO if that was the case, it would be more than a bit cheeky.

Cheers for all of the replies! My current insurance expires mid December - so I still have a little time to shop around. I will probably go direct to some of the suggested firms that have been listed here.

Any suggestions for dual car policies? Best firms for this? Or would you keep the two cars on separates policies? :S

Admiral seem to be quite competitive for this at the moment. However, when I priced up a multicar quote it didn't work out great...running through each car as single policy quotes, the quote on the one car was good, the rate on the other less so.

In the end, it worked out cheaper to get the second car insured elsewhere. Probably depends on the specific vehicles, so could be worth a look.
