Philips BlueVision Bulbs

Featured Replies

Hey all,

Just bought some Philips BlueVision main beam bulbs (HB3's) for the new Lexus. Now i used to have them on our previous Lexus and also on the CTR we had and you could tell the difference between them and the normal headlight or main beam bulbs quite easily. Gone to fit them tonight and tried them and had a couple of issues....

Firstly one of them doesn't fit snugly into the holder and instead of sort of clicking into place as you twist them into the holder and it being held rigidly in place it just very softly clicks into place and moves if you touch it so thought right that's one that needs replacing / sending straight back etc.... Put the other bulb in and thought i'll see them in action and thought bloody hell they still look very yellow. Replaced the loose one with the stock bulb and put them on again to compare the normal and BlueVision and they are just exactly the same no difference or extra whiteness at all.

As i say i've had them before in the past and tried the same thing back then and you could clearly tell the difference between the standard and bluevision bulbs. My question is.... Have they gone down hill recently or could i have got fake one's??? I wouldn't have thought the latter as i got them from AutoBulbs Direct with the Brisky Freedom discount but don't know what to make of them..... I'm that un-impressed with them i'm quite honestly not even bothered about having them now anyway!!!!

Cheers

Dave.

where did you get them from?

EDIT- sorry now read full post. Only reason i ask is that there were people selling OEM bulbs in uprated packaging on ebay. It was on watchdog a year or so ago..

Are those bulbs safe with plastic lenses though Chris??? I know a lot of the import one's aren't and they then turn the headlights cloudy white.

I've been in touch with them and have arranged to send them both back for a full refund. I'll have to keep my eye's open for some other mainbeam bulbs for now.

Cheers

Dave.
