clutch inhibiitor switch

Featured Replies

hi everyone :)

4 weeks ago my dad just bought a new octavia estate and he loves it dearly

but the pressing down the clutch pedal each time to start it thing is really annouying him,

is there an easy way to bypass this, like bypass a switch or something on the pedal ?

thanks in advance :)

There may be a way past it but more and more cars are like this now and I suspect even more will be in the future... I'd say it'd be easier to get used to it...

It's a good idea anyway even in a car that doesn't make you do it as you ensure that there's no drivetrain connection when starting the car...

When I had a manual car I always started the car with the clutch depressed (my driving instructor taught me that way...)

isn't that just as much effort as depressing the clutch in the first place, then keeping it depressed until you go to pull off?

You probably could just bypass the switch wiring.

The problem I could think of is when it comes to use cruise control, it won't work as it'll think you have the clutch pressed in

If you disable the switch you will eventually get a Clutch Pedal Switch Signal Fault and the cruise control won't engage.

Sorry, it is how it is - he will soon get used to it. Most drivers do it anyway.

Should have bought a DSG... emoticon-0136-giggle.gif
