Fabia TDI Range 0-60 times? Unrealistic?

Featured Replies

Hey guys,

Bored so thought I'd ask is the 0-60 time rated for a 01 Fabia TDI Elegance Hatch really 11.5????

As the polo and ibiza same engines, are in the 10.5 range.

Whoever has timed their car what figures is their car producing? (Vrs, Polo, Fabia, 1.9tdi 100)

:D

I think it's down to the different gear ratio's in the different models

The 05/04 brochure lists the 0-62mph time as 11.5 seconds.

Perhaps you're not comparing like with like if the gearing is different?

I'm sure I read somewhere that Skoda did their performance figures with 2 adults and a full tank of fuel?

The Mk 1 vRS was officially figured at about 9 seconds, when It would actually do it in 8.2. That did require a launch in 2nd gear.

Hi mate noticed you have a PD100, you have a digital tuning box. Does it make a difference or is it worth getting a proper remap???

Thanks mate

It does make a difference having a digital tuning box (0-60 in ~10/10.5 secs), but overall a remap is better as it adjust's boost and fuel (and a few other things that I can't remember), whilst a digital tuning box will just alter the fuelling

Will a remap make it have better torque and bhp than your box by any chance mate?

Yes, but not by much. Remap will give you 135-140bhp, 230-240lb/ft, and a digital tuning box will give you 130-135bhp, 225-235lb/ft

The power figures in my signature are on the lowest setting

Does it smoke mate and what about MPG?

A guy near Chesire does remaps if you physically send the ECU to his shop. He charges £99. He's got good feedback as well.

I might try him, or just get a Box.

They're pretty good figures mate, Beaten any worthy cars lol????

Must admit a Remap completely changed the Car for me, well worth the money!

Would you say yours is on par with a VRS after the remap???

yeah its same place he charged me £195 for my remap nt had it rolling roaded but its a lot quicker than it was when it was standard seems to know his stuff and there is always people there having remaps done never heard a bad word said about him my mate had his pd100 ibiza remapped by him and it would keep up with mine when it was standard.

By the way mate once your car is remapped does the car engine sound different. Eg. the cars i've noticed with 130bhp and 150bhp have a smoother tick over, and overall smoother noise when driven

Would that be the same case for when a 100bhp Fabia is remapped to 130-7 bhp??? Will it sound different?

Thanks
