Installed RNS510 MODULE 3C8035730A rSAP BLUETOOTH

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Just installed the 3C8035730A module to replace the rSap only 5N0035730C.

Simple plug and play, no recoding was needed.

Iphone 4 works fine, address book downloaded and all that. Also media player plays Iphone songs working.

No SMS on Maxidot compared to rSap HTC Touch HD that i have.

Bought it about $200 on Ebay.

Found that one too.

I've taken the plunge and bought it. Hopefully it will work straight out of the box, or back on ebay it goes... :)

Only 4 more of these left on ebay ...argh, really tempted!

Here is the link: http://cgi.ebay.com/VW-RNS510-MODULE-3C8035730A-rSAP-US-BLUETOOTH_W0QQitemZ280597915034QQihZ018QQcategoryZ73345QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Actually now only $189!! Good guy from Portugal. ebay profile: http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/pickmanuk/

If you do not have the GSM III module already installed to do a simple swap, then you need all the cables and the microphone but those go for more then $400+. Still cheaper then getting it from Skoda as the complete GSM III+ module with all cables is an astonishing 1.262 euro.

Well i took the plunge too. My HTC Touch HD workes perfectly with rSAP but company Iphone4 didn't, so i got both now up and running. I also stayed away from Android just because of rSap not working with HTC phones and Samsung Galaxy is not to my taste.

With this option now rSap or not, we can connect all phones and if and when Apple or Android supports rSap then out cars are ready as well.

CEPi/Darrenw, I've ordered one too. (Damn ebay!). I guess fitting it is fairly straight forward.

Then I'll put the old module (5N0035730C) on ebay. How much do you think I'd get.

Hi all,

So if I have a MY10 VRS, with Bluetooth factory installed, this module would allow me to pair with iphone?

Depends on what build week it was. Week 22 onwards and you got the GSM III+ module with rSAP and HFP.

Yes, the new module allows both, obviously rSAP has more features i.e seeing sms on maxidot, better reception as car aerial acts as receptior etc, but on HFP at least we can use all our mobile phones.

Hello,

In my Superb I have 5N0 035 730C. I got the car April 2010. I also have Columbus navigation system.

For now I'm using an HTC touch HD which is connected with no promlems with car's pre instalation.

I had a look on the ebay (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VW-RNS510-MODULE-3C8035730A-rSAP-US-BLUETOOTH-/280597915034) for the new 3C8035730A.

They say that it's the same with 5N0035730D and if you order it you may get either of the two.Anyone knows if they are the same?

If I replace it will I have the same functionality as now? i.e. will I have the same Columbus screen and also maxi dot informatio? Do i need to change anything in the coding of the car as they do at http://www.myturbodiesel.com/1000q/a5/VW-bluetooth-FAQ.htm

No you should not need any coding, the units that you mention, the 3C8 Rev A and the 5NO Rev D are identical, the 5NO is just a part number change to the 3C8 unit so either do the job very nicely. have a look at a seller called ukmegaseller he also does the units from what I recall he was slightly cheaper than pickmanuk as well.
