(Thought I'd better add that in... )

Reminds me of leading edge tape, only a lot more expensive. Seems like you're getting penalised for not getting the scalpel and measuring tape out yourself...

Hmm...so will the protective film actually take the brunt of stone chips and that...if this is the case, wouldn't you just be moving the problem, so to speak? You'd end up with a chipped top surface, and repairing it would involve...well, not sure how you'd do it.

Personally, I'd invest in some decent wax which you apply every 2-3 months - then when the wax fades, you can clean it off, then apply a new coat, and it'll probably cost less than the above.

Or you could probably apply the film *and* a good coat of wax... :rubchin:

Rob.

We used to get alot of motors in at AmD with armourfend on, very popular with the VX220 lot. If applied well its almost invisable and does stop alot of the smaller stone chips and scratches.

Big stones usually get through though and after a time it does become very obvious its on.

Leading edge tape is nice and cheap though and when it starts to look tatty, you can peel it off and re-apply. Especially true when you consider that demon tweeks sell it in 100mm x 33m for

Avoid it like the plague!!

I used them to do the Scooby, cost me well over

Oh and I forgot to add - the prices seem reasonable but that doesn't include fitting - thats where the money is. Unless they fit it they won't warrant it, and to be honest it's not something you'd apply yourself.

They will also want you to go to them and their 'clean' area to get best results.

A cautionary note, was speaking to a dealer who was running a graphic'd vRS demo recently. Seems he had previously used a reflective graphic set on an earlier vRS demo car and when it came to return it to 'normal' and taking the graphics off, they took the paint off too ! Ouch, seems he had to do a fair bit of remedial work on a virtually new car !!! Sounded costly.
