there's always that story of the Group B rally car coming back into service with someone's finger sticking out of one of the panel gaps. Someone who got too close.

I serviced for Skoda on the RAC Rally the year they were banned.

Yes I remember them well, awesome sounding beasts especially when rallies were proper rallies,, like the Lombard RAC Rally, nothing like today's poor attempt of the Rally of Wales (sorry) GB

You can't beat the sound of a 3.0l V6 coming from a 6R4 They are my favourite cars.

Strangely Metro 6R4s are the only Group B cars that are still running (and winning) in rallies today. :yes:

For me that was the most exciting thing you can get on 4 wheels and my fav driver was Ari Vatanen.

I was only little when Group B was on the go but I still remember it. I had a toy Audi Quattro with the full colour scheme and that was the greatest car ever to me then.

I believe so. Not necessarily in a straight line I guess, but most likely better in the corners due to modern technology / driver aids?? It sure shows how big a kahunas the group B drivers had with the way they corner!

They were banned after several spectators were killed during an "off" by a Gp B car, in Portugal I believe.

For me that was the most exciting thing you can get on 4 wheels and my fav driver was Ari Vatanen.

No idea if this group B or not but wow, Just wow.
