Skoda Servicing

Featured Replies

Anybody use Skoda Finance monthly servicing, or do you just pay as you go. Looks to me to work out about the same.

Hi Mike,

started one of these with the old Pat Monster, however I got duff info of the dealer as they stated I could opt for fixed or variable servicing. This transpired not to be the case. Doing less than 10,000 a year it's fixed over then variable. Not what I wanted. Skoda finance initially refused to refund my first 3 payments but eventually relented and gave me a full refund.

So did you go for fixed or for variable in the end - how many miles did you do?

Is it worth it?

I tend to do 12,000 + a year so could only opt for variable; wanted fixed as I have the cars serviced at 12months or 10,000, hence why I cancelled.

Think it's a good plan if your happy to follow their regime and do a regular annual mileage, as you can spread the cost over the year rather than an annual hit.

however if your unsure from one year to another on your mileage or prefer to follow your own service schedule then it's not for you.

There was another scheme floating around recently but your car had to be a minimum of 3 months old; That was for an oil change service and a full service plus brake fluid for I think £299.

Hope that helps.

I was doing about 25-30k, but now its down to about 11k. it has gone up from 8k a couple of months ago. I expect it to go a bit higher, now that I want to drive my SM emoticon-0136-giggle.gif

I have done all the calculations on 15k. So Skoda Finance will want to do variable servicing based on what you have said. James told me that it would be about 4.5 services over 3 years, which doesn't tie up with what you have told me. Maybe he forgot....Maybe I miss heard - quite possible after driving that Polo around for 5 months emoticon-0140-rofl.gif I'm feeling deaf.

mmmm.

My last 200,000 miles has all been done on variable servicing, with the Octavia at 18,000 mile intervals approx. But I was doing big mileages compared to now.

decisions, decisions...

Now I got some very different info from my local dealer on Monday about servicing...

They said it cost £299 for two services BUT had to be taken out within 3 months or a few thousand miles after purchase of the vehicle! There was also no £100 of vouchers as mentioned on other threads.

Are these deals dealer/dealer group specific?

I was hoping to get the £90 first service out for the way (now done) and then get a 'deal' on the next two - the first of which will be around £220 inc brake fluid change and the next one slightly more still! £299 would have been a good deal for me in this scenario.

Hi Focus,

just had a route round my very untidy office :dull: anyway found a letter and leaflet sent mid September regard this offer by Royce Roberts Skoda in Hull. Obviously this was current then but it does mention a £100 voucher (valid to Nov 2011) and the following applies:

Your Skoda must be over 3 months old but not more than 4 years old and it must have less than 80,000 miles at the start of the plan.

The plan lasts for two years or 20,000 miles (whichever comes first) and consists of;

a standard service

a major service

brake fluid change

spark plug change

air filter change

Hope that helps,

TP

That imo is a bargain! Dare I say it; even without the £100 voucher thats very good value. I think I'll give the local dealer a ring in the nect few days to check the facts I was given but in fairness to the girl, she did go off to the filing cabinet and read it off the actual sheet so it has to be down to the dealers to come up with their own offers I'd suggest.

I've just had our 1.2 serviced 10,000 miles - I was quoted £125 for fixed (12 months/10,000 miles) and £185 for variable (up to 2 years/20,000 miles), both prices included VAT.

It appears that the dealer we bought it from had switched it to the fixed service schedule (the build code indicates variable), without giving me the option - which is rather annoying as the car's only 9 months old.

I agree. When mine is over 3 months old I will get this. It will be reduced hopefully with a voucher as Skoda took over 18 weeks to deliver....
