Stage 1? 2? 3?

Featured Replies

Is there anything official for this?

Is a remap, FMIC, decat, clutch and panel filter classed as 1 or 2?

Is a remap, FMIC, decat, clutch, panel filter and hybrid turbo classed as 2 or 3?

differnet tuners use different things

personally id say

stage 1 = remap and panel filter

stage 2 = Exhaust, FMIC, panel filter stage 2 map

stage 3 = as above but with hybrid turbo

jabba class mine as a stage 1 and thats Uprated Clutch, PD150 Turbo and remap

We (and most tuners) quote Stage 1 as a remap for an otherwise unmodified car.

The rest of the stages are pretty much made up by each tuner and the requirements for them will change between them.

Everyone has their stages..

We never used to use stage names for things, but then since people like revo used the word stage customers would call asking for different stages..

In our terms, for mapping stage 1 is a generic load and go map, stage 2 is a custom map suited to whatever modifications.

For our diesel turbo kits, we've staged them so we can identify quickly which kit each customer is referring to..

What i dont like, is stuff like you need x y and z modifications for a certain stage of mapping..

Front mount inter-cooler.

SMIC - side mount. . .

TMIC - top mount. (on Impreza's at least I think . .)
