Complaints process with Skoda UK

Sorrry but I don't strictly agree. I would think there would be signs everywhere stating that Vehicles are left at owners risk etc.

I don't know the full story however.

My brother has a small workshop and had a car in for repair which he had finished and had told the customer to come and collect it. Customer had spare key and told my brother to lock it up outside the garage and he would collect the car at night and return for his other key later.

A couple of days later the guy came in looking for his car. but obviously my brother thought he'd taken it the day before .......yip you guessed it someone had nicked it.... my brother still had his key, anyway as a result the guy refused to pay the repair bill and tried to hold my brother responsible.

Not the same senario but you can see how every story has two sides... he also went shouting about town that "I got my car nicked out of that place" which infact wasn't strictly true.

The dealer had previously requested both sets of keys from me, which I provided, as they both needed to be coded with the new immobiliser code when the new dash cluster was fitted. Would have been very easy for a member of staff to take one set home with them and come back in the wee small hours with the other set of keys... would also explain how they managed to get the boot open by smashing a rear window (so the dealer told me), when the deadlocks on the car would mean the boot could not be opened without the key fob... otherwise the boot would have remained firmly shut...

I know a guy who left his brand new top of the range Peugeot 406 estate with a main dealer for it's first service. the service dept left it parked up in the service garage with the keys in the ignition which is standard practice. Whilst they merrily went about their day, someone walked in and drove off with the motor.

None of the technicians saw anything and they had no CCTV. The car was never recovered. to add insult to injury, the dealer first told the guy to claim off his own insurance which was void anyway coz they'd left the keys in it. they then tried to offer him a poopy ex demonstrator with higher milage and less kit. He was fuming. They coughed up eventually off their insurance but only after he'd got his solicitor involved.

Apparently the dealership had a

Anybody know the dimensions of a fabia rear window aperture? The thought occurred to me last night that it might not actually be big enough to fit a sub box through, in which case either they left the car unlocked (in which case why would the window have been smashed at all?) or it was opened with the key fob and the window was smashed to make it look like a break-in....

a question Miss.Marple, do you know the exact size of your box?(skoda misquote here we come) but i dont think it will kmake much difference because they could get in, put the seats down and realign the box so it would come out. your box would have to be pretty big to not fit through a rear window.

Well, it's actually Navigator, to whom Skoda outsource their customer care... :)

i have internal e-mails to prove my point.

Ah, but you have e-mails, so she was at least proactive as you got replies - that's half the battle when dealing with customer service departments! :D

Well, been down there today, much of what I have demanded appears to have been accepted so not writing any stroppy letters just yet... I'll hold off to see if it all actually gets done...

Oh, and chopped in the poverty-spec 1.6 Octavia loan car :thumbdwn: for a pretty well-equipped 130 PD TDI Superb while they're finishing the work... Must say, for what is undeniably an ocean liner with wheels, it's actually really nce to drive! Won't miss it when I get my Furby back though :(

PS I got the part numbers for the Furby vRS gear lever rattle while I was there, this fix is being implemented on my car this week, I posted part numbers in the main thread about that issue...
