Tyres..........

Featured Replies

I'm after a couple of tyres for the vRS, currently running Falken FK452's all round, which quite frankly are utter trash! The fronts have lasted less than 5k. :(

Anyway, the Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta seem to be highly thought of amongst members, and based on the lack of stock, that perhaps enforces it!

I did manage to find these. They seem to be a rerasonable price and only £4.99 for 2 delivered, but having never used these tyres or company I was hoping for some advice/opinions.

Cheers, Lee.

I've had these as first change tyre on my current vRS and last vRS and they perform well in both wet and dry but they wear pretty quick. I got through my last set in about 7k miles.

5k? 7k?

You guys must drive hard!

Is there any other way to drive??? B)

My local Tyreman highly recommends Hancook tyres.. He reckons great grip and excellent mileage from them.

I am still on the Potenza's that were on my car from new.. Holding out well and have 7.5k Kilometers on them.. Not driving easy may I add emoticon-0136-giggle.gif

I can get Hankook Ventus V12 Evo K110 for 105 quid each fitted through Blackcircles.

I appreciate that tyre brands "wax & wane" with the years/change of ownership?

However when i ran the BX Citroen I found Hankooks were very good, vis-a-vis performance against cost, I did about 20k a year so for each MOT I fitted a new set of Hankooks to the front, they just nicely lasted the 20K, better than that I was MOT'ing in the autumn, so had the advantage of fresh rubber for the winter.

Shame thats not the case with the Falkens, have had them fitted to previous cars and got 15k+ alas, not with these ones!

They are the ones

I do not know what they are like but he knows his job.

Eiretyres

just got some uniroyal rainsport 2s. Very impressed with them so far for grip etc. no idea what they'll wear like though, However they seem to come with very deep tread when new so will hopefully last a while.

Also got on well with Falken ziex 912, don't know how they'll cope with vrs' power but are fine on front of my scout

Michelin have just released the new tyre for the replacement of the PS2. which believe it or not according to michelin is not actually the PS3. (the PS3 is the replacement for the michelin Pilot Exalto tyres)

The replacement for the PS2 tyre is the pilot super sport

Carl posted these on the other forum

Based on recommendations on here and reviews I have found, I just ordered the Hankooks mentioned above, getting fitted Thursday, fingers crossed they last a bit longer than the Falkens.

I have the Hankook S1 Evo on mine. Good in wet and dry and even moderate snow!

To be fair, when the Falkens were new they were very good in both wet and dry, and not to sad last January in the snow, but during the recent spell, forget about it!!

Had Ventus V12's fitted to my octy at 16k, now at 23k and still loads of tread left

Also a very competent tyre!
