Recomendations For Vrs

There is a technique to this that gets easier with practice...

Reaching slightly around the left (for RHD cars ;)) of the end of the armrest, you need to use the first two fingers under the tip, then your thumb on the button - impossible if you have put the handbrake on with a mighty pull with the armrest up - but if you use this technique with the armrest down it's possible to put the handbrake on a few clicks, and release it the same way - certainly my car has never rolled off on me!

i guess this is why merc went to foot operated hand brakes..

btw any truth in the rumour that 4x4's have armrests to support yourself when the body rolls?:flame:

Not in my 4x4, Paul! :p

Can't vouch for the offroaders among our 4x4 troops, though... :D

I dunno Paul, how did it look following me, or weren't you close enough to see? ;)

the guy in the jag looked p1ssed off when you nearly took his door handles off with the roof rails... (or are they rubbing strips for track days?)

They don't seem to like you using their side of the road, do they?

Strange that. :D

Absolutely right, Paul. And its why so many vRS owners want to retrofit them to their cars too. If you don't believe me, carry out a search for armrests and you will see which owners enquire about them the most. I never cease to be amused that vRS owners invariably want a black leather armrest - presumably to complement the lack of lateral grip provided by their (part) leather seats.

fantastic to see how politely & logically people still argue the 4x4/RS argument. By now on certain other forums it would be down to slagging & Insults.

what do you mean ... we slag each other off as well!

I think we all agree that what we really want is a 4x4 2.7v6 biturbo vRS4 with proper cup holders 6spd DSG box and a front armrest

Butts of Sawtry is one option, or your friendly Skoda dealer another. Quite expensive IIRC. Do a search - the info is somewhere out there on Briskoda. :)

mmmmm, 2.7biturbo....

For the price of a vRS, of course.

Come on, Skoda, put your money where your mouth is and offer us some real value! :D:rolleyes:

to be fair would pay R32 money for a car that kicked its ass...

Somehow I keep on feeling that the best jokes in life are nothing but the raw truth - or at least truth about to be created. :(

So don't tell me that I shouldn't laugh because it's for real.

I wouldn't make fun of the Nissan curry hook, though. That's a brilliant invention!

I'd like lots of curry hooks - everywhere in the car! Especially in the boot!

Sorry. I should have said: tulip holder...:D

curry hook....

cant believe these arent mandatory - would reduce accidents far more than gatso cameras

Hmm, now I still don't know whether to laugh or cry...

Forget the armrest... How about a La-Z-Boy? With fridge! :D

maybe one with massaging built in?

and a waterbed for the rear bench?

how about some custom bunk beds to fit in the wheel arch gaps on the 4x4?:rofl2:

bunkbeds for the wheelarch gaps?

You forget, estate owners have a veritable motorhome bed in the back.... Slept in mine on a few occasions.

dont go throught the chunnel..... will take immigration weeks to inspect all those smuggling hide aways....

Funny, I never got stopped in my estate in the 5 or 6 times I took it through. The RS got stopped all 3! Or maybe the RS looked so cool they couldn't believe it was a Skoda.......

I'm told the guaranteed "search me" car is an old Sierra. It had so many body cavities that the Customs guys used to call it "the wardrobe"!
