Auto light sensitivity

Featured Replies

Was wondering if the sensitivity of the auto lights can be increased.

Generally they're good but in dull/misty conditions they don't come on early enough.

I know there will be plenty of replies of "just turn the switch when they don't come on in time" but i'd like to have a fiddle :)

My guess is no, but I don't know. In fog/mist it's generally quite light, so I can't think how you would increase the sensitivity to recognise that without being on all the time. Happy with mine 99% of the time so 1% turning them on manually does nicely.

I don't think you can mate.

Mine are the opposite and seem to come on when ever there's a small cloud in the sky!!

They came on the other day in bright sunshine!

Thats my only grumble about the octavia that the auto lights come on far too early.

They came on the other day in bright sunshine!

They are supposed to come on in bright sunshine as these conditions can actually reduce visibility, especially if the sun is low in the sky like it often is at this time of the year.

Going over a certain speed and having the wipers on can all activate the auto lights too.

Never knew that. Just imagined it was low light or bad weather.

It was supposed to be 140kph but I went faster than that in Germany without them coming on. Also if the wipers come on for 5 seconds continually they come on.

Many times mine does not come on when opening the car, having leaving home activated and switch on AUTO, but as soon I turn the ignition on the auto lights come on, then take a bit to long to go off.

Them coming on above 140km/h, either nice or bad weather, I actually desactivated this, the DRL will do I think!

You can adjust the sensitivity but you need VCDS to do it.
