Phone keeps dropping bluetooth connection

Featured Replies

I recently got myself a new mobile phone: a Samsung GT-B2710, to replace my old B2100. The old phone paired with the Yeti fine, connected automatically and stayed connected as long as I was driving. The new phone pairs OK and usually (but not always) connects automatically. Very often, though, it will suddenly drop the connection after a few minutes on the road and won't re-connect without being switched off and on again. This is really annoying, and completely defeats the object of having a hands-free system in the car!

I have logged a fault call with Samsung to see if they can offer a solution. While I'm waiting for them to respond, I was wondering if anyone on here had any ideas?

I believe the new phone uses Bluetooth 2.1 rather than 2.0 in the old phone. Could that have anything to do with it?

I had a similar problem with all my iPhones with the original Skoda oem bluetooth car kit that I retro fitted to my old Octavia. Worked fine with my K810, but the iphones would eventually reconnect. It was a known problem, well documented in the ICE section on this forum.

Not had any problems yet with the GSM11 in the Yeti with my iPhone 4 I pleased to say.

I have a Samsung Tocco Lite that I pair with the intercom/satnav on my motorbike. I had this problem with it dropping the connection until I started playing around with the phone's bluetooth settings. I changed onething at a time and then the problem went away. I can't remember what I did, it might be "visibility" which is set to Always On.
